A Love Story Rooted in Hemlock 🥂 Meet Kathy and Gary Lyvere
As we kick off our second annual celebration of school sweethearts, we’re thrilled to feature Kathy and Gary Lyvere, a couple whose love story began right here at Hemlock High School.
Kathy, Class of 1975, and Gary, Class of 1974, first met through Kathy’s brother, Dave. As Kathy fondly puts it, “Dave brought him home, and I kept him.” Their early days were filled with fun, friendship, and countless memories spent hanging out with friends.
Fast forward 50 years together and nearly 49 years of marriage, Kathy and Gary’s journey is a testament to lasting love and partnership.
From high school sweethearts to lifelong teammates, they embody the spirit of Hemlock’s finest. Let’s celebrate their story and the love that continues to grow from our Huskie roots.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Hemlock Varsity Poms team for their incredible victory at the Michigan Pom Association Competition at SVSU today. The schedule has been created for the Mid-American Pom State Championship. The Hemlock High School team will compete on February 9th at 11:50 am. The competition will be held at Eastern Michigan University.
