Little Huskies have big ideas. At Hemlock Elementary, curiosity leads the way. In classrooms like this one, students are encouraged to explore and ask questions. With guidance from supportive educators, even our youngest Huskies are discovering that their ideas matter.
Hands-on learning is important because it allows students to actively engage with concepts while being coached through new skills. Whether they’re experimenting or simply sharing what they notice, it all starts with curiosity. Every big idea starts small, and at Hemlock, we make space for it to grow.

Today, we're highlighting Danielle Perry, our Mental Health Practitioner who joined the Huskie Pack in January 2024. What she loves most about being at Hemlock is the opportunity to connect with both students and staff, building meaningful relationships and giving back to the community where she grew up (Hemlock Alumni Class of 2004).
In her role, Danielle provides vital support to students individually and in groups, focusing on crucial skills like emotional regulation, coping strategies, and positive peer relationships. She also serves as a valuable resource for students and parents in finding outside therapists and community support.
Danielle emphasizes that mental wellness in schools is paramount, directly impacting a student's ability to learn, build connections, and succeed academically and personally. A key part of her work involves equipping students with coping skills before challenges escalate, developing strategies they can use both in the classroom and at home.
Danielle's message to students and families is simple and powerful: "It's ok not to be ok." Thank you, Danielle, for your crucial work in supporting the mental health and well-being of our Huskie Pack.

End of Day. Beginning of Legacy.
As the sun sets over Hemlock Public School District, we’re reminded that every day here is more than just a school day—it’s a chapter in a story bigger than ourselves.
From the fields where futures are forged, to the classrooms where curiosity blooms, this sunset reminds us that something truly special is happening in our little corner of the world.
Here, we don’t just prepare students for tests—we prepare them for life. With every lesson, every project, every act of kindness, we’re building something enduring.
Here’s to the moments that matter, the people who make them possible, and the promise of another sunrise on the Huskie horizon.

At Hemlock Public School District, we know that strong schools aren’t just built on academics—they’re built on connection.
Like a game of Jenga, every interaction matters. A kind word. A shared laugh. A teacher who sees a student. A student who feels seen. One by one, those pieces stack up to create something solid.
And just like Jenga, when the foundation is strong, we can go higher than we ever imagined.
Here’s to the power of human connection—and to building something great, one block (and one relationship) at a time.

Staff Spotlight: Chad Inabinet - Dean of Students
Get to know Chad Inabinet, our fantastic Dean of Students at Hemlock Middle School, who joined the Huskie Pack at the start of this school year! In a short time, Chad has been deeply impressed by the students, staff, and families of our district, especially his incredible team at HMS. He's proud to be "pulling the sled" and contributing to our tradition of innovation, collaboration, and education.
What Chad loves most about his role is the daily opportunity to work directly with students and their families, playing an active part in their lives both inside and outside the classroom. His focus every day is on supporting their growth and ensuring that Hemlock Middle School is a meaningful part of their journey. As Dean of Students, Chad supports student health holistically – socially, emotionally, and physically. He collaborates closely with families, staff, and support personnel to break down barriers that might prevent a student from thriving. Whether it's through behavioral and attendance support, fostering positive peer relationships, addressing mental health, or ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, Chad's goal is to ensure every student feels seen, supported, and set up for success.
Chad believes that student wellness is foundational to learning, especially in a close-knit community like ours where the school often serves as a central support system. When students feel safe and emotionally healthy, they are more engaged and build stronger connections. One thing Chad wishes more people knew is the vital importance of strong relationships and open communication between the school and families. "We are only as successful as we are united," he shares. His favorite quote, "Teamwork makes the dream work!" encapsulates his belief in the power of a united school community where students, families, and staff work together for shared success. And a fun fact about Chad? He's known for his unique and conversation-starting style, often sporting memorable clothing, hats, socks, and shoes – and he's always proudly wearing his Huskie gear! Thank you, Chad, for your dedication to our students and for being such a positive force in the Huskie Pack. #StaffSpotlight #DeanOfStudents #StudentSupport #HemlockPride #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork

Rained out again, our Earth Day project for the Bill Agresta Cross Country Course is cancelled for tomorrow due to weather and course conditions. We are going to coordinate with our Ling, MS, and HS buildings and have coordinated efforts to make improvements before the end of the school year, but not a mass #PullTheSled effort as previously planned. Coach Agresta, please tell those Angels to stop crying so we can implement your course improvements as planned.

Did you miss Freshman Orientation but still want the scoop? No worries—there’s still time to get connected!
Give our high school office a call at 989.642.5287 and we’ll make sure you get the info you need. Principal Green might even give you a personal tour (bonus points if you ask him to sing).
It’s not too late to make great decisions—but space is limited, so don’t wait!

Help Us Honor Our Hemlock Heroes. As Memorial Day approaches, we reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of the brave men and women connected to our Hemlock community. We invite you to help us pay tribute. If you know a veteran, active-duty service member, or a fallen hero from the Hemlock area, we’d be honored to share their name and story with our community.
