We caught Ms. Dixon’s class hard at work on their opinion essays today, digging into research for their new unit on technology’s impact on society. Students were analyzing evidence and building strong arguments like pros.

🦑🔬 Science in Action at the Middle School! 🔬🦑
Our 8th-grade students dove into hands-on learning during a squid dissection lab in Mrs. Slominski's class! Students practiced basic dissection skills while exploring squid anatomy and making real-world connections to our Salmon in the Classroom (SIC) program.
Squid are an important food source for Chinook salmon, which our students are raising from eggs to fry stage right here at school. Through SIC, students learn about life cycles, ecosystems, conservation, and stewardship—all while connecting science and math to an authentic environmental project.
Experiences like this bring learning to life and help students understand how interconnected our aquatic ecosystems truly are. Great work, 8th graders! 👏🌊🐟
