#ThrowbackThursday to 1985 📸 Here's a delightful snapshot of Principal Carmen Sparado with the Easter Bunny in front of Hemlock Elementary. Mr. Sparado began his career with Hemlock Public School District in 1963 as the band director—back when teachers started their day picking up students and ended it by driving them home. Over nearly three decades, he wore many hats: bus driver, band director, elementary and middle school principal, and several other administrative roles. He was a true Hemlock legend. #HemlockHuskies #Huskietastic #HemlockStrong #Since1863

We all know that feeling when you walk into a place where you're truly welcomed. That's the feeling our teachers are creating every day. By being intentional with their words – saying "I'm glad you're here" and "Your presence matters" – they're building a culture of belonging at Hemlock. And it's making a difference! We want to celebrate High School math teacher and woodworking legend Keith Krueger for being a champion of this approach. We're also encouraging staff to share their success stories and strategies with each other. Because when we work together, the impact is even greater. #AttendanceHero #PositiveCulture #HemlockFamily #StudentSupport #ThankYouTeachers

Another Beautiful Brunch, Another Beautiful Day in Hemlock What a joyful morning at our annual Senior Citizen Hemlock Community Pep Club Spring Brunch! We gathered. We ate. We laughed. We shared stories. But more importantly—we connected. In a world that moves quickly, today was a reminder that the most meaningful moments are the ones spent face-to-face, heart-to-heart. Our gym was transformed into a warm and welcoming space for our beloved senior community. There were handshakes, hugs, and high-fives. From delicious food to a few festive bunny ears, the energy was as bright as the spring blooms on the tables. A huge thank you goes out to our Hemlock Public School District staff—our incredible food service team, hardworking custodians, and the ever-spirited Pep Club—for making this event possible. It takes a village to put something like this together, and we are proud that our village runs on kindness, commitment, and care. At Hemlock Public School District, community isn’t just a word—it’s who we are. Whether you’re 5 or 95, you’re part of the Pack, and today was another example of how we show up for one another. Here’s to tradition, togetherness, and plenty of coffee refills. #HemlockStrong #CommunityMatters #SeniorBrunchMagic #PepClubPower #RunInPacksSince1863

ICYMI: Giving Old a New Purpose! You know we're all about making the most of what we have! Check out what our awesome team did with the old ticket booths from Wallace Field/Krueger Track. Instead of heading to the wrecking ball, one booth got a second life as our updated community food pantry (located at the Historical Society on the corner of Wilson and Hemlock Road), and the other is now a handy tennis shed! 🎾 Big shoutout to our maintenance crew and Pumford Construction for their creativity and hard work in giving these structures a new purpose and continuing our commitment to resourcefulness. 🙌 Way to go, Rick, Casey, and company! #Repurpose #CommunityLove #HemlockPride #Innovation

Congratulations to Justin Keyes, our Student of the Month at Hemlock High School .🌟 Justin, a sophomore, stands out not only for his positive attitude and work ethic, but also for his passion and drive toward his future career goals. With dreams of becoming a voice actor, announcer, or DJ, Justin has already begun paving his path—right here at Hemlock. Recognizing Justin’s unique ambition and talent, Principal Keith Green offered him the opportunity to take over the school’s daily announcements each morning and afternoon. Justin accepted the challenge without hesitation, and since then, the Hemlock halls have echoed with energy, creativity, and a touch of flair each day thanks to his variety of voices and announcing styles. “This is more than just an announcement—it’s practice for a dream,” says Justin. “It gives me the chance to get comfortable behind the mic, try out different tones and characters, and connect with the school in a way that’s meaningful to me.” Justin’s enthusiasm is contagious, and his dedication to his craft is inspiring. Whether he’s bringing a fun twist to the morning greeting or signing off with style at the end of the day, his voice has become a familiar and welcome part of Hemlock High School’s daily rhythm. Congratulations, Justin Keyes—keep bringing your voice to the world! 🌟 #HemlockHuskies #BetterTogether #BringTheMagic
