This week's #StaffSpotlight is on Paige Guthrie, one of our wonderful Social Workers here at Hemlock Public School District.
Other than winning 2 competitive cheerleading state championship titles in high school, here are some fun nuggets of information you may not know about her:
• Her favorite part of her job is spending time with all of her students and getting hugs from the littles. Her least favorite part is all of the paperwork….because who likes paperwork?
• She could listen to anything by Morgan Wallen or HARDY on repeat.
• Something she can cook to perfection is a delicious copycat version of Olive Garden’s Chicken Gnocchi Soup.
• A quote she lives her life by is: “In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind”

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday and today we're featuring Shannon Siler, a fabulous 1st grade teacher at K.C. Ling Elementary.
Along with having taught at Hemlock Public School District for 7 years, here are some other fun facts to know about Mrs. Siler:
• Her nickname as a child was Shrimper, as her twin brother who was always about a foot taller than her. She says her dad still calls her shrimper to this day!
• Her favorite subject in school was English Language Arts.
• She always wanted to be a teacher when she grew up.
• If she won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, she would travel the world.
• A quote she lives her life by is: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars” from Norman Vincent Peale

• Growing up she wanted to be a Marine Biologist.
• If she won the lottery and decided to give up her position here at HPSD, she’d spend her days traveling the country in an RV.

We are blessed to honor and recognize those who have come before us and those who have helped make Hemlock Public School District what it is today.
The temporary signage that will be on display during our construction has been placed around Wallace Field and Krueger Track. Our next round of construction is scheduled to begin, in spring 2024 and will impact the entrance to our field and track. Join us in honoring these two Hemlock legends.
