It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday and today we're featuring the talented Tiffany Green, a 3rd Grade teacher at K.C. Ling Elementary.
Apart from being famous for her no bake cookies, and being a Hemlock alumnus herself, here are some other fun facts to know about Mrs. Green:
• Her favorite subjects in school were spelling and math. She was always good at memorizing how to spell words and qualified for the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee in middle school. Math was another favorite subject of hers, algebra specifically, as she found solving equations fun!
• She has always wanted to be a teacher. She loved to play school at home in the summer, and naturally, was consistently the teacher. She also shared that she had many teachers while attending Hemlock Public School District that positively influenced her to pursue a career in education.
• If she won the lottery she’d likely retire early and buy a beachfront home in the south, soak up as much sunshine as possible, and enjoy entertaining friends and family.
• She hopes her students remember her as a teacher who cares about each and every student. Her goal is to create an environment where her students feel safe to take risks, valued as a member of their classroom, and motivated to be the best version of themselves possible.
Once a huskie, always a huskie. We're so grateful to still have you in our Huskie Pack, Mrs. Green.

Diane Mulvaney and her SLS students decorated the Huskie Express for the Homecoming parade, painted several phenomenal landscapes, and had a great time passing out candy and treats to the little Huskies on the parade route.

This week's #StaffSpotlight is on the lovely Linsey Wardin, our Athletic Secretary here at Hemlock Public School District.
In addition to being called Linsey Lou as a child, here are some fun things you may not know about her:
• Her favorite part of her job is definitely the kids, while her least favorite part is the 7:00 am start time.
• A song she could listen to on repeat is Stuck with You by Huey Lewis and the News.
• We asked her where and when she would go if she could time travel and believe it or not, she said… Hemlock, Michigan! She’d love to observe the process of it becoming a village and every decade afterwards. She finds local history so fascinating.
• Growing up she wanted to be a history teacher, but if she won the lottery and didn’t have to work anymore, she’d choose to enjoy her family the only way she knows how…by working on their dairy farm. She’d lean towards only playing with a few fun toys like the autosteer, milking robots, and maybe an old tractor or two.
• She thinks the best Christmas movie ever made is Die Hard. Between the action, humor, family and the holidays...what is not to love?
We’re grateful you’re part of the Huskie Pack, Linsey. Thanks for all you do to keep things running smoothly for our student-athletes at HPSD!

The Richland Township Fire Department paid our Preschool, Young 5s, and Kindergarteners a special visit in honor of Fire Prevention Month 🚒🔥 Our little ones got a firsthand lesson on staying safe around fire and what to do in case of an emergency. And the best part? Exploring the fire trucks, goody bags, and awesome hats to take home! Who knew safety education could be this much fun?

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday and today we're featuring the terrific Tristen Siler, a Social Studies and Growth Mindset teacher at the Middle School.
Apart from being a newlywed (he just got married on August 19th!), here are some other fun facts to know about Mr. Siler:
• His family would always call him Buzz, inspired by his obsession with Buzz Lightyear.
• As a child, he always wanted to be a country music singer.
• His favorite animal is a Grizzly Bear.
• If his life were to be turned into a movie, he’d want Adam Sandler to play him.
We're so grateful to have you in our Huskie Pack, Mr. Siler!

This week's #StaffSpotlight is on Paige Guthrie, one of our wonderful Social Workers here at Hemlock Public School District.
Other than winning 2 competitive cheerleading state championship titles in high school, here are some fun nuggets of information you may not know about her:
• Her favorite part of her job is spending time with all of her students and getting hugs from the littles. Her least favorite part is all of the paperwork….because who likes paperwork?
• She could listen to anything by Morgan Wallen or HARDY on repeat.
• Something she can cook to perfection is a delicious copycat version of Olive Garden’s Chicken Gnocchi Soup.
• A quote she lives her life by is: “In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind”
We’re grateful you’re part of the Huskie Pack, Paige. Thank you for all you do to tend to the social, emotional and mental health of our students at HPSD.
