Mrs. Kato’s 8th grade STEAM classes have been working for 8 weeks on creating an invention that solves a problem. Check out a few of the inventions created. These students will be entering their projects to the invention convention.

Knights of Columbus Regional Spelling Bee - Merrill MS: Saturday, February 27, 2021
Isabelle Hutfilz - 6th place
Lia Hoffmann - Regional Champion
State Spelling Bee - May 1 in Essexville. Lia Hoffmann will represent our region and most importantly Hemlock Middle School.

6th grade students were challenged to create a cellphone holder for hands free video viewing and a device to keep headphone wires from becoming tangled. The class voted for the top designs to be printed.
