What a fantastic event hosted by the Hemlock Band! A benefit took place tonight for one of our Hemlock families who suffered a house fire. Well done Mr. Bicigo! What a fantastic turnout for a fantastic family. #bettertogether

On Thursday, December 8th, from 5pm-8pm, the Hemlock Bands will be hosting a benefit Taco Dinner. Proceeds will go to the Leitz family, who was recently affected by a house fire. There will be live music performed by The Midland Sax Quartet, 23N, Hemlock community members, and Hemlock students. Minimum donation for dinner is $5, and we will also be filling the Band Trailer with kitchen items and canned/dry foods to help stock their pantry. Please come out and enjoy the music and food with us and support a great cause!

Today our upper-level art students had the opportunity to visit Swanhaven Manor and decorate the building for the holidays. This included ornamenting the windows, hanging up the paper snowflakes made by The Hemlock art club, and delivering personalized Christmas cards to every resident. Our students have done this each year for the last 5 years in hopes of bringing the residents some holiday cheer. The students then headed over to the Midland Center of The Arts to learn about the world of digital art through an interactive project and explore the art pieces curated by the teachers and students of this facility through the 50 years of their programs (and even got to explore some Michigan fossils!). In the end our students left with a better understanding about the future of art and the pride of doing something good for our community.
