As part of the 2026 Saginaw Youth Arts Festival, our talented students brought the energy, music, and fun of Mamma Mia! to life with an exciting performance featuring songs, scenes, and costume changes that showcased the hard work and talent of the cast and crew.
From the first number to the final bow, Huskie performers represented Hemlock with confidence, creativity, and passion for the arts.

On the biggest robotics stage in the world, Hemlock’s Gray Matter Robotics Team 5712 proved they belonged among the best.
Competing at the FIRST Championship in Houston against more than 600 elite teams from around the globe, Team 5712 battled through intense competition, earned a spot on Alliance 4 on the legendary Curie Field, and represented Hemlock with grit, resilience, and heart.
But their biggest accomplishment came at the end of the competition, when Gray Matter was awarded the prestigious Gracious Professionalism Award — one of the highest honors in FIRST Robotics.
This award recognizes teams that compete with excellence while lifting others up, showing respect, serving their peers, and proving that character matters just as much as performance.
Behind this achievement were countless hours of work from students, mentors, parents, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who believed in this team every step of the way.
On the world stage, Team 5712 was recognized not just for what they built — but for who they are.

Victoria Hauffe closed out an outstanding senior season with a long list of accomplishments that reflected her leadership, dedication, and impact on the Hemlock Girls basketball program.
Serving as team captain, Hauffe earned Most Valuable Player honors and was named the Tri-Valley Conference Blue Player of the Year while also receiving All-Conference recognition.
During the season, Victoria also reached the incredible milestone of scoring 1,000 career points in a Huskie uniform, cementing her place among the top players in program history.
Her season also included selection to the MLive Saginaw News Dream Team along with multiple All-State honors, including Detroit Free Press and Detroit News Honorable Mention All-State recognition and BCAM Best All-State Honorable Mention honors.
In the classroom, Hauffe continued to excel as a BCAM Outstanding Senior Student-Athlete and BCAM Individual Academic All-State honoree.

Hemlock High School proudly recognizes Gavin Schmidt for being named an Outstanding Junior by the Saginaw County MSU Alumni Club.
Gavin has consistently demonstrated excellence in the classroom, leadership in athletics, and strong character throughout his time at Hemlock High School.
A multi-sport athlete, Gavin leads by example on the field and court while continuing to represent Hemlock with pride through his work ethic, dedication, and team-first mindset.
His commitment was especially evident on the night of the honors banquet, when he first helped lead the Varsity Baseball team to a victory over Chesaning before attending the event later that evening.
