EMC quote

Hemlock Public School District proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Kunold Courts, honoring the lasting legacy of longtime educator and coach Ronald Kunold.

During his 28 years at Hemlock Schools, Coach Kunold made a tremendous impact both in the classroom and on the tennis courts. Known for his leadership, dedication, and passion for students, he helped build a culture of excellence within the tennis program while mentoring generations of Huskie athletes.

Under his leadership, Hemlock Tennis earned statewide recognition with multiple top-10 finishes, and in 1991 he was named Coach of the Year by the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association.

Coach Kunold was also known for the pride he took in caring for the courts himself, ensuring his athletes had a place they could truly call home. Today, those courts proudly carry his name and serve as the home courts for the Hemlock High School Tennis program.

School may be out, but connection still matters.

Summer is a great time to relax and recharge, but it’s also important to stay connected with friends, family, and supportive people.

Make time to check in with friends, spend time outdoors, join activities or community events, and be sure to reach out if you’re struggling

A strong support system helps keep us healthy all year long.

Henna Day is one of those end-of-year traditions our High School Art students look forward to each year.

From intricate designs to lots of laughter, students spent the day exploring a new artistic medium while collaborating with friends and celebrating their creativity.

Experiences like these encourage artistic exploration and remind us that learning can be both creative and memorable.

As we head into the final days of the school year, remember to take care of your mental health too.

The end of the year can bring excitement, stress, busy schedules, and big emotions all at once.

Make time to rest, stay organized, talk with supportive friends or adults, and remember that it’s okay to ask for help when you need it.

Finish the year one step at a time. You’ve got this, Huskies.

Yesterday was our annual tie dye day with kindergarten students and our upper-level Art classes, a colorful tradition that brings students from across the district together through art, laughter, and creativity.

From swirling colors to big smiles, it was a crazy fun day full of memories in the making. We love seeing our older students step into leadership roles while helping our youngest Huskies create something uniquely their own.
