Hemlock High School Student of the Week Sponsored by Fullerton Tool – Logan Burback Hemlock High School is proud to announce sophomore Logan Burback as this week’s Student of the Week. Logan has stood out not only for his dedication to his studies but also for his passion and commitment to his future career. What part of the school day does Logan enjoy the most? Logan's favorite part of his school day is his shop classes. "Before last year, I didn’t know much about mechanics, but this year I’ve become a much better mechanic," Logan said. His growth in these classes highlights his willingness to learn and improve, and he’s gained valuable skills that he can use in his future. Who has been Logan's biggest inspiration or role model? When asked about his role model at school, Logan didn’t hesitate to mention Mr. Yuvan, one of his teachers. "To be entirely honest, I’d probably have to say Mr. Yuvan because he’s not afraid to tell you the truth and doesn’t sugarcoat things like lots of other people do." Logan appreciates straightforwardness and respects those who are honest, which reflects his own character. What subjects or activities is Logan passionate about? Logan is most passionate about his shop classes, where he has learned a great deal. His enthusiasm for hands-on learning has helped him excel, and it’s clear that he has a strong interest in applying these skills in the real world. What are Logan's future career plans? Looking toward the future, Logan plans to become a heavy equipment operator after high school. "When I get out of school, I want to be a heavy equipment operator. I plan on going to a school in Marquette." He’s already thinking ahead and preparing for this path by gaining skills and knowledge now. A Word from Principal Mr. Green "Logan’s integrity and honesty are qualities that make him a standout student at Hemlock High School. His straightforward approach to life and learning, along with his determination, will take him far in whatever career he chooses to pursue," said Principal Keith Green. "He is setting himself up for success every day, and we are proud to have students like Logan in our school community." Hemlock High School congratulates Logan Burback for his achievements, and we look forward to seeing where his hard work and passion take him in the future.

Sponsored by Fullerton Tool Hemlock High School Student of the Week- Adelia Breternitz Hemlock High School is thrilled to announce Adelia Breternitz as this week’s Student of the Week! Adelia is a well-rounded student with a passion for creativity, teamwork, and community engagement. When asked about her favorite part of the school day, Adelia shared, “I enjoy both the walk to and from the kindergarten and getting to hang out with the kids there. We have interesting conversations!” This thoughtful answer reflects Adelia’s love for connecting with younger students and making meaningful connections during her day. Adelia’s biggest inspirations at school are her teachers. “All of my teachers, no doubt. I’ve learned so much about different types of working people from observing their individual ways of teaching and being passionate about something. I love seeing how you guys work together to make this school a functioning environment.” Her appreciation for the dedication and collaboration of her teachers is a testament to her insight and respect for education. Adelia’s passion shines through in both theatre and wrestling—two activities that highlight her versatility and drive. “The two that come to mind are theatre and wrestling, which stinks because they happen at the same time, and I must divide my attention between the two. The thing I enjoy about them is the opportunity to perform unique exercises with your team of people, whether it’s doing flips on people in wrestling, or pretending to be a secret murderer in theatre.” Looking toward her future, Adelia has big aspirations, though she’s still exploring exactly what path she wants to take. “As of now, I plan to take classes through Delta and possibly transfer to SVSU. I’m still deciding what exactly I want to do. Something flexible where I can work with a variety of people to make stuff for the masses to enjoy. Things like public arts come to mind. I plan to do whatever it takes to get to where I figure I want to be. I will settle for no less!” Hemlock High School is proud to honor Adelia Breternitz for her creativity, dedication, and passion for learning. We look forward to watching her continue to pursue her goals and make an impact in the school community and beyond.
