What better day to celebrate Mrs. Sensabaugh for Principal Appreciation Month than on her birthday?!

Mrs. Sensabaugh has spent 15 years in education, with 13 of those years at Hemlock Public Schools! 💙🤍 She began her career as a 4th-grade teacher before teaching 1st and 2nd grades, and in 2025, she stepped into her role as Assistant Principal.

Throughout her time at Hemlock, Mrs. Sensabaugh has made a positive impact on so many students and families. Her love for education goes beyond the classroom, and she is passionate about helping students grow, supporting staff, and making Hemlock Elementary a wonderful place to learn and grow. Her dedication to our school community and the happiness she brings to each day make her such a special part of our Huskie family! 🐾

When asked what inspired her to become a principal, she shared that while she loved being a teacher, she always knew she wanted to help even more students. Her favorite part of being a principal? Seeing everyone's smiling faces each morning, ready to have a great day at school!

Mrs. Sensabaugh says what makes Hemlock Elementary so special is what's inside — the kindest, most respectful, and responsible students, amazing teachers and staff, supportive families, and a school filled with learning, play, and happiness. We couldn't agree more!

A little fun outside of school! When she's not at Hemlock, Mrs. Sensabaugh loves reading and spending time with her husband, Dustin, and their two kids, Lawson and Teegan. As a family, they enjoy traveling, camping, coloring, and making jewelry!

And one more fun fact about Mrs. Sensabaugh? Her favorite school cafeteria treat is French toast sticks!

Our Kindergarteners had an apple-solutely amazing time visiting Leaman’s Apple Barn this week!

Students learned all about the life cycle of an apple, how apples are harvested, and how apple cider is made. They even got to try their hand at making cider themselves! From wagon rides and playground fun to delicious apple cider and donuts, it was a day full of learning, laughter, and fall fun! 🍎🍏

This month, we are focusing on what it means to be Responsible! Our challenge is to find ways to practice responsibility at home as a family.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Create a family chore chart.

Make a family goal and work together to reach it.

Pack backpacks the night before.

Help set the table or put clothes away.

Brush teeth without reminders.

Water plants or help care for a pet.

🍎 Apple Week was so much fun in Ms. Lauren’s preschool room!

Our little learners explored apples in so many yummy ways—from finding out how many apples tall they are, to taste testing different varieties, and even making delicious homemade applesauce!

So many fun discoveries, smiles, and sweet learning moments! ❤️
