Our Young Fives classes took an exciting field trip to Schomaker Farms this week, where they participated in everything a farm has to offer in the fall. From harvesting corn to petting goats and sheep, everyone had a wonderful time. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to Schomaker Farms for welcoming us and also to the Hemlock Business Association for graciously sponsoring the busing for the event.

This week Hemlock Preschool began an exciting new tradition: family-style dining. At these meals, like this morning's breakfast, our preschoolers are learning to serve themselves, try new foods, and to bond with their peers and teachers over the shared experience of enjoying a meal together.

Let's Move Michigan for Safe Sleep! Ms. Kalie, lead teacher in the HECC infant room, is participating in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Virtual 5K to promote Infant Safe Sleep. With a helping hand from our youngest Little Huskies, she's walking to raise awareness for one of the most important issues facing families today - keeping our infants safe while they sleep. We're incredibly proud of Ms. Kalie and the work she's doing both in and out of the classroom to keep our babies healthy and happy.
