☔️ As you break out your umbrella and join us for the opening night of Singin' in the Rain at the Gariglio Theatre, please be aware that there is parking lot construction underway. For our seniors, we recommend dropping off at the door via the High School loop or utilizing designated parking north of the school at the Hemlock Road entrance. Limited spots are also available in the loop for our senior citizens. For all others, fear not! Ample parking is nearby, with clear signage to guide you straight to the theatre. Here is a helpful graphic to help you know where to park. #HemlockHuskies #SinginInTheRain #BetterTogether #LoveOfTheArts

🍰 Our culinary students in Mrs. Gerard's class crafted cut-out cakes, mastering the art of transforming basic shapes into whimsical animals. From circles to squares, rectangles to cupcakes, they turned pans into canvases. Way to go, culinary artists! #CulinaryCreativity #HemlockHuskies #HandsOnLearning #Since1863

It's #TeacherFeatureTuesday and today we're featuring the endearing Emily Schmidt, the STEAM teacher for our littlest huskies here at Hemlock Public School District. We wanted you to get to know Mrs. Schmidt a little better, so here are some fun facts about her: • The Disney character she relates to the most is Belle, because she loves to read and cares very much about those around her. • A song she could listen to on repeat is "Buy Dirt" by Jordan Davis (or just about anything by Taylor Swift). • Something students may be surprised to find out about her is that she participated in a study abroad trip to Costa Rica in college and was able to spend a few weeks learning in a tropical rainforest. • She hopes her students remember her class as a place where they were comfortable sharing ideas, learning from mistakes, and trying new things. She hopes they all know how much they are loved and how proud she is of all they accomplish as they persevere through challenges that they are presented with in class. • What can she cook to perfection? Why, her four little ones at home say that she is an excellent cook of chicken fries with a side of Mac & Cheese. We’re so grateful to have you in our Huskie Pack, Mrs. Schmidt! #Huskietastic #Since1863 #HPSDPackLeader #HemlockStrong #HemlockHuskies

In a recent culture unit, Mrs. Kaczynski's middle school students immersed themselves in Hispanic music, learning about diverse artists and genres from various Latin countries. Through biographies and Spanish listening sessions, they honed language skills and explored musical expression. 📚🎶 The unit ended with an engaging scavenger hunt, where students matched Spanish biographies with their English counterparts, reinforcing language comprehension in a dynamic, out-of-classroom activity. #HemlockHuskies #CultureMatters #ElevatingEducation

🍽️ Our Culinary class had an unforgettable day at Frankenmuth's renowned Bavarian Inn this week. Students dove into the culinary world, meeting with the head of HR to explore industry insights and the importance of guest service. An incredible tour led by the GM showcased every nook of the restaurant, topped with a hands-on pretzel-making session rich with history. The cherry on top of this scrumptious experience was savoring the Bavarian Inn's famous chicken, mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, salads, and the irresistible German dessert, Butterhorns. 🥨🍗🥗 #CulinaryAdventure #HandsOnLearning #LifeReadyHPSD #HemlockHuskies

For our next Alumni Spotlight, we're thrilled to feature Jennie Cummings, a graduate of Hemlock's class of 2005 Reflecting on her time at Hemlock, Jennie fondly recalls the small-town feel and the tight-knit sense of community, especially during hometown parades and reunions with old teachers who still warmly greet her, even nearly two decades after graduation. Among the many impactful figures at Hemlock, Jennie holds a special place in her heart for Lela Gronski, the high school secretary whose infectious energy and kindness left a lasting impression. Jennie's most cherished high school memory revolves around starting in the State Semi-Final Game against Swan Valley as a freshman. She also treasures the experience of sharing her high school journey with her twin brother, Jimmy. After earning her Bachelor's in Business Administration from Northwood University, Jennie embarked on a successful career path, crediting Hemlock High School for instilling invaluable lessons of teamwork, leadership, and confidence through sports, where she excelled on varsity softball for all four years. Now, as a Production Scheduler at SK Siltron CSS, Jennie oversees the supply schedule and prioritizes inventory and orders for semiconductor wafers used in cutting-edge technologies like 5G, electric vehicles, and high-energy computer chips while cherishing her proudest role as a mother to her son, Eddie. For current students, Jennie offers sage advice: "Be kind to your peers. Everyone is different and as you get older you will embrace that even more. Most importantly, have fun, and enjoy this special time in your life!" #AlumniSpotlight #HemlockHuskies #BetterTogether #Since1863
