Sometimes, the game isn’t the only thing putting on a show.
Under dramatic skies and streaks of sunlight, our athletes took the field with grit, heart, and Huskie pride. Whether it’s the scoreboard or the scenery, nights like this remind us why we love sports and community.

ICYMI – Big things are happening at Hemlock!
We recently celebrated the grand opening of the expanded Lockwood STEM Center, a space that has already helped transform how students engage with science, technology, engineering, and math. Now, we’re building on that momentum with the addition of the Keel Innovation Center—bringing even more opportunities for hands-on learning, creativity, and real-world problem solving.
These projects are more than just buildings. They represent our commitment to preparing students for the future, supporting staff innovation, and creating spaces where bold ideas can take root and grow.
The best part? We’re just getting started.

So much incredible art, so little time.
As we reflect on Saginaw County’s largest one-day student art exhibit, we’re filled with pride and admiration for the talent on display. From bold brushstrokes to thoughtful design, our students and alumni showcased not only their creativity—but their heart, voice, and vision.
We are proud of each artist who shared their work and grateful to be part of a community that celebrates the arts in such a meaningful way.

Meet: Carrie Nelson - Bridging Health and Learning
Meet Carrie Nelson, our dedicated Health Resource Advocate at Hemlock Public School District, who joined the Huskie Pack in November! Carrie's passion lies in connecting students and staff with vital health resources, emphasizing that wellness encompasses the whole person – social, emotional, nutritional, and beyond. She loves building one-on-one connections with students, fostering a culture of care through classroom presentations, interactive challenges, and fun lunchtime activities, all in partnership with the Saginaw County Health Department. Carrie believes that supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students is foundational to their success, and she wishes more people understood the layered approach and intentional actions that build a truly healthy school environment. Her favorite quote, "People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care," guides her impactful work. Fun Fact: Carrie's dad is one of 18 kids and a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian tribe! Thank you, Carrie, for your dedication to the well-being of our Huskie Pack! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #StaffSpotlight #HealthAdvocate #StudentWellness #HemlockPride #PullTheSled

We’ve heard the rumors… and honestly, we can’t blame you.
With all the progress happening across campus, some have suggested it might be time to trade in our beloved Huskie for a construction crane as the new mascot.
While we’re staying loyal to the Pack, it’s hard to dispute the transformation taking place all around us. From updated facilities to innovative learning spaces, the growth is real—and it’s only possible because of the tremendous support from our community and voters.
We’re incredibly grateful for your continued belief in our mission to create schools that inspire, empower, and expand opportunities for every student.
Thank you for helping us build not just better buildings, but a stronger future. 💙

Ahoy, Hemlock! Our middle school students brought the house down with their swashbuckling performance of A Night at the Wax Museum! From pirates and plots to laughs and larger-than-life characters, these young performers lit up the stage with creativity, courage, and plenty of flair.
We are incredibly proud of our cast, crew, and staff for their hard work and dedication. This is what happens when talent, teamwork, and a little theatrical magic come together.

Some people wait until kindergarten to make good decisions—others come dressed in Huskie gear straight out of the crib.
This little one is already repping the Pack and proving that it's never too early to show school spirit. While official enrollment might be a few nap cycles away, Hemlock Public School District does offer limited school of choice for families ready to make a smart move. We're a district built on innovation, community, and just the right amount of adorable.

Raising the Bar — Literally and Figuratively
As we build walls and raise steel, something incredible is taking shape on the south side of Hemlock High School.
This week, we reached a new high point—literally—by placing a steel beam higher than any other on our campus. This milestone marks a major moment in the construction of our new Performing Arts Center, a space that will inspire creativity, amplify student voice, and bring our community together through the power of the arts.
We are grateful—deeply grateful—to our voters, our Board of Education, and every partner and worker who is helping bring this vision to life. Your belief in our students and your investment in their future is what makes moments like this possible.
This isn’t just steel and concrete—it’s a promise. A promise that we will continue to build opportunities for our students to shine, both today and for generations to come.

Love of the Arts – A Celebration of Creativity and Community
The region’s largest one-day student art show was a huge success! Love of the Arts brought together incredible visual art, delicious culinary creations, and powerful student performances—all under one roof.
The night was a vibrant reminder of the talent and passion our students bring to the stage, the canvas, and the kitchen.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing fine and culinary arts teachers, led by Mrs. Rae Ann Woodcock, for orchestrating an unforgettable event that truly showcased the heart of Hemlock.

Hemlock Board of Education honors teachers from each of the four school buildings at their regular May meeting, as part of National Teacher Appreciation Week. If you are reading this, thank a teacher! #PullTheSled

At Hemlock Elementary, learning goes beyond the textbook. Each day, our young Huskies have experiences that spark curiosity, foster independence, and build a lifelong love of learning.
Through exploration and discovery, students realize that learning can be engaging and rewarding. They are not just learning content, but how to think critically and solve problems. What looks like painting now could be the start of these young Huskies becoming the world’s next inventors or explorers.
Our educators continue to find creative ways to bring lessons to life. By incorporating joy into the learning process, they help students connect more deeply with what they learn and with each other.
