Congratulations to Chayton Ross, who earned his third consecutive K of C Spelling Bee State Championship today!


Mr. Barrrett’s 8th grade science classes today enjoyed a guest speaker from the Cranbrook Institute of Science. She discussed the components and importance of watersheds. The students also completed a hands on activity that modeled how land use decisions and pollution can affect water quality.





Hello! Here is information on a new summer STEM camp for students in grades 7-9. Transportation can be included. Attached is a flyer about the new camp being offered at the MSU-STEM building in Midland Aug 21-24. Cost is minimal (although scholarships are available if needed), and daily transportation will also be provided if necessary.

SVSU's Camp Infinity introduces girls to computer and internet technologies through hands-on activities. Campers are split into two groups according to the Fall 2018 grade level: 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade. Campers in grades 5th-6th will study video game design concepts and robotics. Campers in grades 7th-8th will study robotics and mobile app design concepts. In addition, students will participate in mini- sessions that highlight programming skills and real-world uses of technology. Campers will also get an opportunity to meet with women who work in technological fields and explore career options in technology. For more information, please visit the camp registration page. Students will need access to a Google account (their own or their parent’s) each day. Students may bring a bag lunch, use the campus dining services or Doan Marketplace. Morning and afternoon snack will be provided by camp. Camp Infinity times are from 9am-4pm Monday - Thursday and 9am-3pm on Friday. Cost: $75/camper.

Recycling Contest 5th-6th-Design an original Hemlock recycling mascot or logo to help show our community that Huskies are going green. 1st place $100.00 Toys R’ Us., 2nd place $50.00 Toys R’ Us. Deadline is April 20th. Flyers are in the office.
Recycling Contest 7th-12th- this is open to Hemlock students in grades 7-12. Make a video, write an essay or poem, or draw a poster. Grand prize $250.00, 2nd place $50.00. Flyers with more information are in the office.


7th & 8th grade Boys Basketball- if you have not turned in your uniform, please turn it in as soon as possible to the office


Middle School Track & Field- a physical must be on file with athletic office to receive try-out ticket. Mrs. Galbraith will be here during lunch time Thursday, April 5 to hand out tickets. You need your ticket to give to coach on first day of practice.
