Some traditions just keep getting better with time, and one of those is the end-of-the-year Field Day. Bounce houses, outdoor games, fresh air, and fun all make this special day the perfect ending to a wonderful year.

Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers who helped make Field Day 2026 the best ever.

8th Grade Farewell
The HMS Fly Fishing Club wrapped up a great year with a 'Bugs and Pizza' party! Coach Kyle Wilkowski brought in local aquatic invertebrates for the students to identify, capping off a fantastic season of learning this essential skill. We hope they enjoy a summer full of fly fishing and outdoor fun!

Parents and staff looked on last week as some very deserving students received end-of-year awards at Hemlock Middle School. Whether they're being recognized for academic achievement or citizenship, these students have shown themselves to be an amazing example for others.

Congratulations to our Principal's Award winner, Johanna Fabien; our Outstanding Eighth Grader Award winners, Brynn Wenglikowski and Thompson Holmes; and to all of the other amazing middle schoolers who received recognition this year.

The outgoing 8th graders were kind enough to pose for a class photo in front of the main doors last week. During these last few days as middle schoolers, we want to commemorate as many of these special moments as we can.

What they didn't know was that Principal Gensch and a few of their favorite teachers were waiting on the roof with water balloons and soakers! Mayhem ensued, and these future high schoolers are not likely to forget the fun they had that day.

If you'd like to get in on the end-of-year spirit, don't forget to stop by Hemlock Middle School during the afternoon and evening of Thursday, June 4th, to 'Chalk the Walk' by writing a message to the 8th graders in your life.

Congratulations to 6th grader Daxdin Cmach for being selected as the Hemlock Middle School Student of the Month for May. 🌟 Daxdin is an outstanding student who is friendly, polite, and kind to everyone around him. He always has a smile to share and is someone that both students and staff love being around.

Daxdin consistently comes to class prepared and ready to learn, making him an all-around great student and a wonderful role model at Hemlock Middle School.

We are proud to recognize Daxdin for this well-deserved honor!

Let’s give our 8th graders the ultimate send-off!

The Hemlock Middle School PTO and the Hemlock Pep Club have put together a fantastic lineup of events for the last two days of school to celebrate the amazing Class of 2030.

Mark your calendars and come help us make these final middle school memories special:

Thursday, June 4th
Chalk the Walk (Thursday Evening): Stop by the HMS sidewalk anytime on Thursday evening to write an encouraging, celebratory, or sweet chalk message for your student to see on their last day!

Friday, June 5th
Clap Out: Join us outside the HMS main doors on Friday to cheer, clap, and make some noise for our 8th graders as they exit through the front doors!

Pizza Picnic (Immediately After School): The celebration continues at Richland Township Park! All 8th graders are treated to a fun pizza picnic right after the final bell.

Keep an eye out for some awesome new gear! The Hemlock Pep Club has generously purchased class t-shirts for the students who requested one.

Thank you to everyone in our amazing community for helping us say farewell to the Class of 2030. Let's make it unforgettable!

Since yesterday was National Paper Airplane Day, Mrs. Garrett's fifth graders tried their hand at some aviation engineering!

The hall turned into a runway as students designed, folded, and tested their best creations - we think we definitely have some future aerospace engineers in the making!

If you notice the HMS grounds looking a little more fantastic than normal, you can credit these industrious students from the National Junior Honor Society! They put their shovels and rakes to excellent use, adding some spring flair to our building. We can't thank them enough!

Good morning families, This is a friendly reminder about our morning drop-off procedures to help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently for everyone. If you are the first car in line, please pull all the way forward. Once cars reach the sidewalk, students should exit the vehicle. Please do not create a second drop-off line in the parking lot. If your student is dropped off by a high school sibling, please share these expectations with them as well. We know your time is precious, but safety is — and always will be — our top priority. Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping our mornings run smoothly!

Player and Parent Meeting
Last night, the 8th-grade band proved they can rock any venue. Because of the weather, we had to make a last-minute pivot from Wallace Field to Legend Gymnasium, but our amazing students didn't miss a beat.

Huge thank you to everyone who packed the bleachers, to the parents for their endless support, and to these incredible musicians for putting on a fantastic show. The acoustics might have been different, but the talent was exactly the same!
