Campers will build football fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence while getting a glimpse into the future of Hemlock Football!

What a wonderful evening celebrating our talented 4th graders at their Spring Music Concert! 🎶🎤

Thank you to all of our families for coming out to support our students and cheer them on. Your encouragement and support mean so much to our Huskies and help make nights like this extra special.

There was a Bulldog roaming through our Huskie halls today! 🎓

Tonight, Mr. Kelly graduates from St. Charles High School, and we couldn’t be more excited for him! Since October, he has been a part of Ms. Engelhart’s classroom through the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC), and while he may be a Bulldog, he has fit right in with our Huskie family. 💙🐾

Mr. Kelly brought in his cap and gown for pictures, and students even got to sign the stars on his graduation cap! ⭐ We also gifted him a copy of “Will the Pigeon Graduate?” and he read it aloud to the class.

From Bulldog to honorary Huskie, we are so proud of all of his hard work and can’t wait to see where life takes him next. Congratulations, Mr. Kelly!

Our 3rd graders in Mrs. Green’s class have been hard at work during “Reader’s Theater” as they practice reading fluently through short plays! Reader’s Theater gives students the opportunity to build confidence, improve expression, and strengthen fluency skills while having fun bringing stories and characters to life. We love seeing their creativity and teamwork shine! ✨

L is for Lemonade Day! 🍋🥤 As part of our ABC Countdown, our 1st graders had so much fun making and enjoying homemade lemonade today! Students used lemons, sugar, and water to create a refreshing treat while practicing following directions and working together.

The puckers say it all! It was the perfect way to add a little sweetness to the school day!

Today, we welcomed our future 1st graders to K.C. Ling Elementary! 💙🐾 Our Kindergartners visited the building to help prepare for their exciting transition to 1st grade in the fall. Students had the opportunity to tour different areas of the school, including the library, cafeteria, gym, classrooms, and office.

A huge thank you to our amazing Student Council members for helping lead tours and making our future Huskies feel so welcome and excited for next year! We cannot wait to have these students walking our halls as 1st graders soon!

Learning is even more fun when students become the teachers! Our 3rd and 4th grade peers took turns teaching each other this week’s vocabulary words, helping build confidence, communication skills, and deeper understanding along the way. We love seeing students collaborate, encourage one another, and take ownership of their learning! 💙🐾

Reflection writing helps students think about what they’ve learned, challenges they’ve overcome, and goals they want to achieve moving forward. We are so proud of the effort, creativity, and thoughtfulness they are showing in their writing! 💙

Lights off, flashlights on, and reading fun in full swing! 🔦 Our 1st and 4th graders enjoyed some special reading time using flashlights to bring a little extra excitement to their books. Moments like these help create a love for reading while building connections between our students across grade levels! 💙🐾

Our 3rd graders learned how to make beautiful music during Music class recently as they learned how to play the pentatonic scale on the xylophone! 🎵

It's amazing to see our students practicing rhythm, coordination, and teamwork while building their musical skills one note at a time. We have some talented Huskies in the making!

The last of our 4th grader classes had an unforgettable day yesterday exploring all that Bay City State Park has to offer! 🌿 From hands-on learning opportunities to time spent enjoying the beauty of nature with friends, it was a day full of memories, laughter, and adventure.

A huge THANK YOU to Hemlock Community Pep Club for your generous donation to the K.C. Ling Elementary library! Our students are SO excited about the new basketball books - it is like Christmas morning in the library!

Our previous set was over 20 years old, so having updated titles featuring today’s NBA players and teams is such an incredible upgrade. Students have been asking for these newer franchises for quite some time, and it’s so exciting to finally be able to put them in their hands.

There’s nothing better than seeing students excited to read, especially when it’s about something they already love. We are so grateful for your support in helping us keep our library current, engaging, and full of books kids can’t wait to check out.

Game on in 1st grade! 🎲🏀 We celebrated Game Day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, laughter, and lots of fun! From board games to active games, these students were all smiles while making memories together. Even Mrs. Kaczmarczyk got in on the action with a game of basketball! 👏
