Hello, Summer Break! Today on the last day of the school year our Young Fives classes had an outing at the Richland Township Park. It was also time to say goodbye to this year's kindergarten graduates who celebrated the milestone with an outdoor concert and hotdog roast. We are extremely proud of each and every one of these special kids who've grown and accomplished so much this year and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them. This Thursday will be the last day of Hemlock Preschool, wrapping up a year which was marked by learning, growth, friendship and fun. Some of our kiddos will be moving on to Young Fives or Kindergarten, where the skills they've learned through play in our program will serve them well into the future. Others will be with us for another year and will be joined in the fall by brand new preschoolers who will learn from their experience. It has been our privilege to spend this past year with these special kids and we look forward to another exciting year in the fall. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer!
On Memorial Day, we at Hemlock Elementary & ECC would like to honor those who have given their lives in service to our country. We also hope that the families in our community who have been touched by such a loss find peace on this day of remembrance.

It was Mrs. Klopf's Kindergarten class' turn to release their special butterflies last week. Everyone enjoyed watching their carefully raised butterflies go out into the world. Good job!

Today was the culmination of the Kindergarten Habitat Project. Each child selected an animal, learned all about it, and then made a replica of it’s habitat to show to friends and family at a huge assembly. You all did a great job!

Tomorrow is Speech Pathologist Day and we'd like to recognize our amazing Speech Pathologist, Miss Hannah! Hannah is truly a ray of sunshine in our building and helps countless children meet and exceed their speech goals. We are so grateful for her - thank you, Hannah!

This week two of our kindergarten classes released the butterflies that they'd carefully raised from tiny caterpillars. Taking care of these fragile insects and then letting them go was a huge lesson for our kiddos and we think they did an amazing job.

Hemlock Preschoolers took a special field trip to Rauchholz Memorial Library today. They learned how to find books, check them out, and even had story time.

Lots of arts and crafts going on in Childcare today - mixing paint and making brand new colors!
Kindness Rocks! Kindergarten and Young Fives classes had the opportunity to paint rocks with a message of kindness during their recess time today. These beautiful works of art will be placed around the school to spread kindness and good vibes to everyone.
