Science is coming to life in second grade! 🔬
Ms. Baldwin’s class is diving into their new science curriculum and getting curious about the animal world! Our second graders are learning how animals are similar and different, making observations, asking questions, and discovering what makes each animal unique. 🐢🦁🐟🦋

THE LING LINE-UP: Meet Ms. Lynn!
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on someone who has been part of the Ling family for an incredible 23 years!
Ms. Lynn always dreamed of becoming a teacher when she was younger, and although her path led her to a different role in education, she has spent the last 23 years making a difference in the lives of our Huskies. Her favorite part of working at Ling is knowing that each day she has the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. And we know our students are better because she does!
When she’s not at school, Ms. Lynn is a wife, mom, and proud Nana. She loves to read, cook, bake, and spend time with her family. Her idea of a perfect weekend is being on the beach with her family! 🏖️
A few more things you should know about Ms. Lynn: she loves dark chocolate and nuts, raspberry tea, Christmas, reading, the Lions, and Almond Joy ice cream! Ms. Lynn says the one thing she simply can’t live without is a snack! {Same, Ms. Lynn}.
If she weren’t working in education, she says she’d choose a career as a nurse. And if she could instantly master one skill? She’d love to learn not to worry so much! 💭
Her advice to our Huskies is simple but powerful: “Believe in yourself.”

We’re kicking off a brand-new series where we’ll be getting to know the amazing people who make K.C. Ling Elementary so special - The Ling Line-Up! 💙
First up is Ms. Baldwin, a fabulous 2nd grade teacher! This is her 2nd year at Ling and we’re so lucky to have her as part of our Huskie family!
When she’s not at school, Ms. Baldwin loves spending her summers boating and fishing and enjoys hanging out with her family, friends, and her dog, Marshall. She also loves curling up with a good book. Her favorites include the movie Tangled, the color blue, Christmas, black cherry ice cream, Goldfish, butterscotch candies, and, perhaps most importantly, Cherry Dr Pepper! 🥤🍒 She’s a proud University of Michigan fan (Go Blue!), considers herself a dog person, and says a perfect weekend includes spending time with family and friends with football on. And here’s something you might be surprised to learn: Ms. Baldwin played four sports in middle school! 🏐🏀⚽🏃♀️
When asked what inspired her to become a teacher, Ms. Baldwin shared that her mom, who is also a teacher, was her biggest inspiration. Growing up, she witnessed her mom's love and passion for teaching and found that same love for education herself.
Her favorite part of working at Ling? “The students and staff.”
And the advice she wants every Huskie to remember is one we LOVE:
“Just because you can’t do it right now, just means you can’t do it yet. Always believe in yourself and the power of yet.”
