After their recent field trip to the Pumpkin Patch, Ms. Bouchard’s class brought the learning back to the classroom for a hands-on Pumpkin Investigation! 🎃
Our Huskies had the chance to explore, observe, and discover more about these fall favorites while putting their curiosity to work. Who knew pumpkins could offer so many opportunities to learn?
From the pumpkin patch to the classroom, we’re growing curious minds and making memories together!

There’s something special about a community that shows up for its kids, and we are so lucky to have partners who do just that!
Thanks to a special program that connects area businesses with students through Saginaw Spirit hockey tickets, some of our Huskies get the opportunity to experience the excitement of a hockey game and make memories along the way! A huge thank you to Valley OBGYN and Frankenmuth Credit Union for adopting K.C. Ling Elementary and being in our corner!
These acts of kindness are about so much more than hockey tickets. They’re about creating opportunities, building connections, and reminding our students that they have an entire community cheering them on. When businesses, schools, and families come together, amazing things happen!
Thank you for helping us make a difference, one opportunity and one little Huskie at a time. We’re proud to be part of a community that believes in showing up for one another! 💙

💬 November 3rd Ballot Proposals: What Happens Next?
What happens if the November 3rd ballot proposals pass? What if they don’t? And what does either outcome mean for your child’s school?
Join Principal Cory Snider and Assistant Principal Amanda Sensabaugh for a Questions & Conversation opportunity to learn what both possible outcomes could mean for Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling Elementary, including our facilities, educational opportunities, students, and staff.
Our goal is simple: help parents understand the facts, what could change, what would remain the same, and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
No drama. No political debate. Just the facts and an open conversation about our kids and our schools.
📅 Thursday, October 29 | 5:15 PM
📍 K.C. Ling Elementary – New Gym
This conversation is specifically designed for parents and guardians of Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling students. We welcome you to join us, learn more, and bring your questions!
Because understanding the possibilities helps us plan for our kids and our schools. 💙

Our Lost & Found is filling up! 👀 We’ve gathered some pictures of the items waiting to be reunited with their owners, and we’re hoping to get as many of these treasures back home as possible!
📸 Take a peek through the pictures and see if you spot anything that belongs to your Huskie!
Parents, please remind your students to pick up any items that may be theirs. If you’d like to stop by and check out the Lost & Found yourself, you’re more than welcome to visit before or after school!
Let’s get these jackets, water bottles, sweatshirts, and other belongings back where they belong!

Ms. Engelhart’s class earned a stuffed animal day for their great behavior, and these Huskies were excited to bring their furry friends along for the fun!
Apparently, the learning doesn’t stop when our Huskies head to specials! 😂 When students returned, they discovered their stuffed animals had been busy doing a little learning of their own! ✏️📖🧸
We love seeing our students work hard, make positive choices, and celebrate their success in the sweetest ways! Way to go, Huskies!

🧮📚 Math can happen ANYWHERE - even under desks and alongside friends!
Our 1st and 3rd graders are proving that learning doesn’t always happen sitting at a desk. Sometimes, the best math moments happen in unexpected places, with a little creativity, collaboration, and a friend by your side!
We love seeing our Huskies find fun ways to learn, work together, and tackle those math challenges! Because at Ling, learning happens everywhere! 🐾💙

Mrs. Olinger’s class is having a blast exploring their NEW games for indoor recess and free play! 🧩🎲 The excitement is contagious as our Huskies discover new ways to play, learn, share, and build friendships together.
These awesome new additions were made possible through a grant from the Hemlock Community Pep Club, and we couldn’t be more grateful! 💙 Your generosity helps us create meaningful opportunities for our students and makes their school days even more special.
Thank you, Hemlock Community Pep Club, for being such an amazing and supportive community partner! We are so lucky to have a community that continues to show up for our Huskies! 🐾

We were excited to kick off our first Peer-to-Peer meeting of the 2026–2027 school year last week! Led by Mrs. Wilson, we were honored to have Mrs. Tack, Mrs. Pratt, and Mrs. Duran join us for a fun-filled time together. 💙
Our group took on a blind jack-o’-lantern drawing challenge 🎃✏️, and let’s just say… the results were full of personality! The activity reminded us of an important message: Not everything is perfect, but we can always have fun!
We’re looking forward to another wonderful year of connection, learning, laughter, and building friendships together!

Little Poms, BIG SPIRIT! 📣
Last week, our 1st–4th grade Huskies had their moment in the spotlight during Little Poms Night at halftime of the varsity football game! ✨ We loved seeing our youngest Huskies take the field, show off their moves, and cheer alongside our varsity poms team!
A huge shoutout to our Varsity Poms team for organizing and leading this special tradition each year! 💙 This program is about so much more than learning a routine. It creates a wonderful opportunity for team building, mentorship, and connection between our younger students and high school athletes. Our Little Poms get to learn from positive role models, build confidence, and feel part of something bigger, while our varsity athletes have the chance to lead, encourage, and inspire the next generation of Huskies.
Thank you to our Varsity Poms team for sharing your time, talent, and Huskie pride with our youngest Huskies! We’re so proud of these girls and the connections that make our school community so special!

Our 3rd graders traveled back in time yesterday! The Castle Museum visited K.C. Ling Elementary as part of their Mobile Outreach Program, bringing Michigan history right into our classrooms!
Students learned about Fur Traders and French Voyagers and explored an important part of Michigan’s past through this engaging, hands-on lesson. What a fun way to bring history to life!
A big thank-you to the Castle Museum for bringing these learning experiences to our Huskies! 💙
