As students and staff return from Thanksgiving Break, K.C. Ling Elementary School is celebrating a season of gratitude, reflecting on the many people, opportunities, and traditions that make the school a special place to learn and grow.
“At K.C. Ling, we are truly thankful for the incredible community that surrounds our school,” said Principal Cory Snider. “From our dedicated staff and hardworking students to the families and community partners who support us every day, this place is special. We’re proud of the small-town feel that makes Hemlock unique, and equally proud of the big opportunities our students experience.”
A Community Built on Gratitude
K.C. Ling Elementary continues to thrive thanks to the strength of its relationships. Teachers and staff go above and beyond to create safe, engaging, and welcoming classrooms. Students show curiosity, kindness, and a growing commitment to our Huskie values of safety, responsibility, teamwork, and respect. Families remain steadfast partners, volunteering, communicating, and encouraging a strong home–school connection.
Big Opportunities in a Close-Knit Setting
Even as a proud small-town school, K.C. Ling offers students a wide range of innovative learning experiences. From hands-on STEAM instruction and literacy-focused programming to enrichment activities and many other opportunities, students benefit from a well-rounded education designed to spark both their interests and their confidence.
“We want every student to feel known, valued, and challenged,” Snider said. “That’s what makes our school special. Every adult here is committed to helping every child succeed.”
Looking Ahead With Thankfulness
As the school moves into the winter season, K.C. Ling Elementary remains focused on providing a warm, supportive environment where students can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. The weeks ahead include exciting classroom projects, schoolwide events, and continued collaboration with families, reminding everyone that even during the busiest times of year, there is always something to be grateful for.
“Thanksgiving may be behind us,” Snider added, “but our gratitude continues all year long.”
