Hemlock Public School District offers several preschool program options through the Hemlock Early Childhood Program for families with preschool-age children.
Tuition-Based Preschool Programs
Our tuition-based preschool programs serve children ages 2.5 to 4 years old and are available in both part-day and full-day classroom settings. Families who receive DHHS support may apply eligible payments toward preschool tuition.
Part-Day Program: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Full-Day Program: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
Hemlock Early Childhood also offers the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Michigan’s free PreK program for eligible four-year-olds. This is a full-day program, operating Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Eligibility is based on income and other risk factors.
PreK for All – Am I Eligible?
The Great Start Readiness Program is part of Michigan’s PreK for All initiative. Children must be four years old by December 1 to be eligible. Income guidelines have increased, allowing more families to qualify. Applications are prioritized based on income and the child’s risk factors, and most four-year-olds will qualify.
Preschool Registration Information
Preschool registration for the 2026–2027 school year will open on Friday, February 27 at 8:00 a.m. The registration link will go live at that time on the Hemlock Public School District website and the district’s Facebook page.
