Meet Dana Buckley, the proud mother of freshman Maylin Buckley, who competes in golf, basketball, and softball for Hemlock. Alongside her family, Dana plays an important role in helping make Huskie game days a success. Whether she is cheering from the stands or working behind the scenes, her presence helps create a positive and welcoming experience for everyone involved.
If Dana is not in the stands watching the Huskies compete, you can often find her volunteering in the concessions or ticket booth on most game days. Her willingness to step in wherever help is needed ensures that athletic events run smoothly for athletes, coaches, families, and visiting schools.
Dana chooses to volunteer at athletic events because it gives her the opportunity to connect with people throughout the Hemlock community and neighboring schools, while directly supporting student athletes who pour their hearts into representing Hemlock with pride. Her commitment reflects the spirit of teamwork that extends beyond the field or court and into the stands and behind the scenes.
When asked why she would encourage others to volunteer on game days, Dana shared, “Volunteering on game days is something I’d encourage because it’s a fun, positive way to get involved with the school and the community. You support the athletes who work hard to represent Hemlock and help create an environment that makes game days run smoothly. It doesn’t take much time, but it makes a big difference for the kids, the families, and the school.”
Volunteers like Dana Buckley are essential to the success of Hemlock Athletics, helping create meaningful experiences for student athletes while strengthening the connections that make the Huskie community so special.
