Hemlock Public School District is proud to announce that Isabella “Izzy” Curry and Chad Brown, members of the Class of 2025, have been named this year’s recipients of the prestigious All-Sport Award. This honor recognizes two student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in multiple sports, maintained strong academic standing, and made meaningful contributions to both their teams and their community.
“These two Huskies represent the very best of Hemlock athletics,” said Director of Athletics Angela Pohl. “They’ve shown what it means to compete at a high level while also being tremendous leaders, teammates, and students. Their legacy of excellence and commitment will continue to inspire future athletes in our programs.”
Isabella Curry has been a four-sport athlete during her time at Hemlock, competing in soccer, basketball, track and field, and cross country. She is a four-year varsity soccer player who consistently led her team in both goals and assists and was a driving force behind multiple district championships and regional success. Her accolades include Second Team All-State honors in 2023, multiple All-Region, All-District, and All-Conference selections, and being named team MVP for four consecutive years. On the basketball court, she was a three-year varsity contributor, helping guide her team to a 2023 State Championship and 2025 District Title, earning Hustle and Lockdown awards along the way. In track and field, she qualified for the state meet in the high jump and three relays in 2025, and earned First Team All-Conference honors in multiple events. Her academic résumé is equally impressive, graduating as a Top 10 student with a 4.01 GPA, National Honor Society membership, and consistent Academic All-State recognition. Off the field, she’s been active in youth sports, summer camps, and club soccer, setting an example of dedication and leadership.
Chad Brown is a standout three-sport athlete in baseball, basketball, and football, earning varsity letters in all four years of high school. On the baseball field, he has been recognized as one of Michigan’s top pitchers by Prep Baseball Report, earning back-to-back First Team All-State honors from the MHSBCA and selection to the 2025 MHSBCA All-Star Game. He was also named the 2025 MLive Saginaw Dream Team player of the year. He led his team to multiple conference and district titles and was repeatedly named team MVP and Best Pitcher of the Year. In basketball, Chad has been a powerhouse at power forward, earning All-State Honorable Mention from both the Associated Press and BCAM, as well as Dream Team and MVP honors. Known for his dominance on the boards, he earned “Chairman of the Boards” and Captain’s Awards over multiple seasons. As a football quarterback and punter, Chad earned All-State honors in punting, All-Region recognition, and was a key contributor to his team’s offensive and special teams success. In the classroom, Chad maintained a 3.673 GPA while also taking dual enrollment college courses with a 3.85 GPA at Delta College. His involvement in NHS, community service, youth sports instruction, and school outreach events rounds out an exceptional high school career.
The awards and accomplishments listed here are only a portion of what these two outstanding student-athletes have achieved over their four-year careers at Hemlock. Their impact goes far beyond statistics and honors, and their presence has left a lasting impression on the fields, courts, hallways, and hearts of this school community.
