Healthy breakfasts and lunches are the main goal of the Hemlock Food Service department. In order to achieve this on a regular basis, we need GREAT people like Sue Knowlton. Sue is the head cook and has worked at Hemlock Public Schools for 23 years. As the senior member of our food service team, Sue has been making lunches with care for a long time.

Mrs. Knowlton grew up in Saginaw, MI. Mrs. Knowlton raised her kids here in Hemlock who are both alumnus. Her daughter Abbey graduated in 2009 and her son Andrew graduated in 2010.

When asked about her proudest moment, Mrs. Knowlton said “…watching her kids grow up into successful adults.”  She is very proud of the people that they have become.  Mrs. Knowlton's favorite place to vacation is Mexico.  She loves to travel, especially out of the country!

Mrs. Knowlton’s biggest hobby is fishing as well as crafting.  Mrs. Knowltons favorite quote is “Let it be.” ~ unknown.   Sue has been happily married to her high school sweetheart for 36 years!

When asked about Sue, Mr. Bauer – Food Service Director had this to say, “Sue is the true MVP in the Dining Services Program.  Starting out the year without a Director, she took the weight of the entire program on her shoulders.  Everyday she leads the team with a smile and makes sure that every child has a healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch.  Cheers to you Sue; the kids wouldn’t be healthy and fed without you and your dedication to the school district.”
