Ashley Bebow

Hemlock Middle School is proud to have added a fantastic educator to our team.  Mrs. Ashley Bebow has joined our team as a member of our Math Department.  Mrs. Bebow teaches sixth and seventh grade math.  Mrs. Bebow is entering her ninth year as a teacher after spending her first eight in the Bullock Creek School District and teaching part-time at SVSU.   She is in her third semester teaching beginning Algebra at the college level.

Principal, Josh Chase, says “Mrs. Bebow has an energy that is contagious. She has a way to make kids excited about learning math concepts.  She always comes to school ready to teach and inspire.  She is an experienced educator, and we are lucky to have here at HMS.”

Bebow grew up in Shepherd, MI, but was born in Oceanside, CA. Her proudest professional moment was having her proposal to speak at the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics accepted not only once, but three times!  Personally, her most proud moment was breaking the indoor track record for the mile at SVSU.  “I worked really hard to accomplish that goal and did it with a time of 4:55” said Bebow.

Mrs. Bebow’s favorite thing about HMS is the staff is that  “everyone is so friendly and helpful. I felt like a part of the team from Day 1.”  Her family consists of husband, Jake, and their four fur-babies: Phineas, Einstein, Wiggles, and Luna (all cats).  Her favorite hobby is running.  “I love to run! I've been a runner since 7th grade.  I mainly race 5ks and Half Marathons.  Just this last Sunday I ran a half marathon in Lansing and placed 4th out of 271 female runners,” said Mrs. Bebow.

Mrs. Bebow’s favorite quote is: "Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world." - Roald Dahl If teaching wasn't enough to keep her busy, she also has another job with Mary Kay as an Independent Beauty Consultant.  Another interesting tidbit about her is that she has relatives who live in Denmark, which she has been able to travel to once and would like to do so again.

8th Grade Math teacher, Jeremy Stedry has this to say “Ashley has been a great addition to the middle school.  She brings knowledge and fresh ideas to the classroom.  She is very passionate about teaching, loves working with students, and has made the transition look seamless."
