This Friday night will be about more than football at Wallace Field.
It will be about coming home, celebrating excellence, and recognizing what can happen when someone takes the foundation built in a small town and carries it into the world.
Hemlock Public School District is incredibly proud to welcome Jennifer (Fuller) Julien, Hemlock High School Class of 2007, home to be formally inducted into the Hemlock Hall of Fame as the 2026 Distinguished Alumni honoree.
Jennifer joins an exceptional group of Hall of Fame members, including Carl Gippert, John Mulvaney, the 1986 Girls Track Team, Bob Kilgore, and others whose accomplishments, character, leadership, and contributions have left a lasting impact on Hemlock and the greater community.
"Jennifer represents the best of Hemlock," said Superintendent Don Killingbeck. "Her accomplishments are extraordinary, but what makes us especially proud is the person behind those accomplishments. Jennifer has worked hard, taken chances, built relationships, created opportunities for others, and never forgotten where she came from. We could not be more proud to welcome her home and induct her into the Hemlock Hall of Fame."
Following her graduation from Hemlock High School, Jennifer attended Michigan Technological University, earning degrees in civil and environmental engineering. Her path since then has been anything but ordinary.
Jennifer became an entrepreneur, business owner, community builder, and leader. Along with her husband, Jon, she has helped build and grow multiple companies, create more than 100 jobs, and invest more than $25 million into Michigan's Upper Peninsula community (MTU, media release 2019).
Her accomplishments have extended well beyond business. Jennifer competed as a professional snowmobile racer for Polaris, including appearances in two world championships, helping break barriers for women in action sports.
In 2019, her journey came full circle at Michigan Tech when she returned to the university, this time as its Midyear Commencement speaker, sharing her experiences and lessons with the next generation of graduates.
And through it all, Jennifer has remained connected to Hemlock.
She has returned to Hemlock High School to spend time with students and share lessons about hard work, commitment, networking, relationships, entrepreneurship, and creating opportunities. Her story is a powerful example for today's Huskies that where you start does not determine how far you can go.
A Night of Huskies Coming Together
Friday's celebration will begin before the game as Hemlock Public School District hosts its annual Staff and Family Tailgate, bringing district employees and their families together for food, fellowship, music, and an opportunity to celebrate the people who make Hemlock special.
Jennifer and her family will join district staff and families for the tailgate before the game.
Adding to the evening's Huskie connections, 2019 Hemlock High School graduate Jake Esckilsen will serve as DJ for the tailgate through his company, 413 Entertainment. Esckilsen has continued building his business while remaining connected to his hometown and school community.
"There is something pretty special about having Jennifer, a 2007 graduate, coming home to be inducted into our Hall of Fame while Jake, a 2019 graduate, is helping us create the atmosphere for the celebration," Killingbeck said. "That is Hemlock. Relationships matter. Connections matter. Our students graduate and go out into the world to do great things, but they will always be Huskies."
At kickoff, Jennifer and her guests will watch the Huskies from the Legend Gymnasium Balcony, overlooking Wallace Field and the campus she once called home as a student.
Then, at halftime, the focus of Wallace Field will turn to Jennifer.
Surrounded by family, friends, former classmates, educators, students, staff, and the Huskie community, Jennifer Fuller Julien will be formally inducted into the Hemlock Hall of Fame as the 2026 Distinguished Alumni honoree.
Board President Matt Wesener said the recognition represents exactly what the Hall of Fame was created to celebrate.
"The Hall of Fame is about honoring people whose lives and accomplishments inspire the Huskies who come after them," Wesener said. "Jennifer's story demonstrates what is possible when talent is combined with hard work, perseverance, character, and a willingness to give back. We are proud that her story started here."
For Hemlock, Friday night is about something bigger.
It is about relationships. It is about generations of Huskies coming together. It is about celebrating someone who walked the same hallways, sat in the same classrooms, competed as a Huskie, and then went out into the world and did extraordinary things.
Most importantly, it is an opportunity for today's students to see firsthand that big dreams can begin in a small town.

Friday night, one of those stories comes home.
