Hemlock Elementary and Hemlock Early Childhood Center have kicked off the 2026–27 school year with an exciting and positive start. Our students and staff have been busy building relationships, learning new routines, and creating a strong foundation for a successful year of learning.
The first days of school have focused on helping students feel comfortable, connected, and ready to learn. Classrooms have been practicing routines and expectations, getting to know one another, and establishing the supportive learning environments that will guide students throughout the school year. Staff have worked intentionally to make sure students feel welcomed and confident as they begin a new year.
At the Early Childhood Center, the start of the year has been especially focused on helping our youngest learners make a smooth transition into school. Preschool teachers have worked hard to prepare welcoming classrooms and establish routines that help students feel safe, comfortable, and ready to explore and learn. Families have also had opportunities to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and become familiar with the school experience.
At Hemlock Elementary, students have returned with enthusiasm and excitement for the year ahead. Teachers are establishing strong classroom communities while beginning academic instruction and learning more about each student’s strengths, interests, and areas for growth. Building these relationships early allows teachers to better support students both academically and socially throughout the year.
Families have also played an important role in helping students get off to a strong start. Open houses, classroom visits, school communications, and other opportunities to connect have helped establish strong partnerships between home and school. The school community recognizes that students are most successful when families and educators work together to support them.
As the school year gets underway, Hemlock Elementary and Hemlock Early Childhood Center are excited to continue building on this strong beginning. With a focus on relationships, consistent routines, academic growth, and a positive school culture, staff are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities for every student.
The Hemlock Elementary and Early Childhood Center staff are grateful for the support of our families and community and are excited for all that the 2026–27 school year will bring.
