Hemlock Public School District is excited to announce that Ryan Hyatt and Meredith St. Henry have been selected to serve as co-head coaches of the Huskie varsity girls soccer program.
The partnership brings together an experienced program builder and a former collegiate player with local ties. Together, Hyatt and St. Henry will bring renewed energy, clear expectations, and a commitment to developing a girls soccer program built to compete.
Hyatt is entering his third season as Hemlock’s varsity boys soccer coach. Under his leadership, the boys program has made significant strides and established a strong foundation for the future. In 2025, the Huskies finished 10-8-2, doubled their win total from the previous season, tripled their goals scored, recorded nine shutouts, won the BlueJay Invitational, and earned a district game one victory. With a talented group returning, the boys are positioned to become a serious force in the Tri-Valley Conference and beyond. Hyatt also played collegiate soccer at Delta College and has more than a decade of coaching experience.
“I have seen firsthand what Hemlock student-athletes can accomplish when they believe in one another, commit to the work, and understand that building something special takes everyone,” Hyatt said. “I am excited to work alongside Meredith and help create that same belief and momentum within the girls program. We are ready to raise expectations, develop our players, and build a program our students and community will be excited to support.”
St. Henry brings an impressive playing background and a connection to the Hemlock community. She competed at Lake Orion High School before continuing her soccer career at Alma College. Now a Hemlock resident, she is excited to become more involved and invest her experience, energy, and love of the game in the district’s student-athletes.
“Soccer has played an important role in my life, and I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to give back through the game,” St. Henry said. “As a Hemlock resident, this means even more to me. Ryan and I share a vision for creating a competitive, positive, and connected program where our athletes are challenged, supported, and excited to represent the Huskie Pack.”
The co-head coaching structure will allow Hyatt and St. Henry to combine their strengths while providing the leadership and attention needed to move the program forward. Their shared focus will extend beyond wins and losses to include skill development, teamwork, accountability, confidence, and a strong connection throughout the entire girls soccer program.
Director of Athletics Noreen Zastrow believes the pairing provides the right combination of experience and enthusiasm for this important next chapter.
“Ryan has already demonstrated his ability to build a program, develop athletes, and create a culture grounded in hard work and teamwork,” Zastrow said. “Meredith brings collegiate playing experience, fresh energy, and a genuine desire to invest in our students and community. Together, they give us a dynamic leadership team that can bring renewed excitement and long-term growth to Huskie girls soccer.”
Superintendent Dr. Don Killingbeck said the appointment reflects the district’s commitment to providing every program with the leadership and support needed to succeed.
“This is more than filling a coaching position. It is about giving our student-athletes two leaders who believe in them and are ready to put in the work alongside them,” Killingbeck said. “Ryan has shown us what focused leadership and high expectations can do for a program. Meredith brings talent, enthusiasm, and a meaningful connection to our community. Together, they have the opportunity to build something very special. The future of Huskie soccer is incredibly bright.”
