Hemlock Public School District is proud to announce that two of its educators, Jodi Tack and Tristen Siler, have been named 2026 Teachers of the Year in their respective categories following the Selection Committee meeting held on April 21, 2026.
Jodi Tack, an elementary teacher at K. C. Ling Elementary School, was selected as the Elementary Teacher of the Year. Known for her ability to build strong relationships and create engaging, student-centered classrooms, Tack brings energy, consistency, and care to her work each day. Her classroom reflects a commitment to meeting students where they are and helping them grow both academically and personally.
“Our job as a Board is to support a system where great teaching can thrive,” said Matt Wesener, President of the Hemlock Board of Education. “Jodi Tack and Tristen Siler are exactly the kind of educators who make that possible. Their commitment to students and their craft reflects the standard we expect and the culture we are continuing to build.”
Tristen Siler, a teacher at Hemlock Middle School, was selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Year. Siler is recognized for his strong instructional practices, leadership within the building, and unwavering focus on student success. He sets high expectations while building a culture where students feel supported, challenged, and capable.
“These are the kinds of educators every district hopes to have,” said Don Killingbeck, Superintendent of Hemlock Public School District. “Jodi and Tristen represent what it means to show up for kids every single day. They connect, they push, they support, and they deliver. This recognition is a direct reflection of the impact they are making in our classrooms.”
Tack and Siler are among four regional honorees, one of whom will be named the Mridha Foundation Teacher of the Year. That announcement will take place during a surprise recognition event on May 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Saginaw ISD Unity Hall.
The recipient of the Mridha Foundation award will receive a $1,000 grant to support continuing education, professional development, educational research, or other educational purposes.
At Hemlock Public School District, excellence is not an occasional outcome. It is the standard. The recognition of Jodi Tack and Tristen Siler reflects the strength of the district’s staff and its ongoing commitment to delivering meaningful, high-quality learning experiences for all students.
