Wolgast

During the March 16th, 2026 ribbon cutting of the Patrick Wolgast Fieldhouse, celebrated by Hemlock Public School District as a milestone made possible through community support and a federal USDA grant, the district is proud to highlight a meaningful moment from the ceremony: the presentation of a Congressional Proclamation honoring the Wolgast family.

On behalf of Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet’s office, Hemlock alumnus Kennedy Kazmierski presented the official proclamation to the Wolgast family during the event. A Congressional Proclamation is a formal recognition issued by a member of Congress to honor individuals, families, or organizations for their lasting contributions and impact within their communities.

This recognition celebrates Patrick Wolgast's generosity, legacy, and enduring commitment to Hemlock Public School District—values now reflected in a facility that will serve students and families for generations.

The moment also served as a reminder of the powerful partnerships that brought the Patrick Wolgast Fieldhouse to life. With support from the United States Department of Agriculture through its Community Facilities Program, alongside strong local and community investment, the project reflects what is possible when leaders at every level come together in support of education.

Hemlock Public Schools extends sincere gratitude to its local, state, and federal partners—including Congresswoman McDonald Rivet—for their advocacy and continued investment in rural schools and communities.

As the fieldhouse begins to serve as a hub for student growth, wellness, and connection, the Congressional Proclamation stands as a lasting tribute to the people and partnerships that made it possible.
