Hemlock High School is proud to recognize Gavin Schmidt for being selected and honored by the Saginaw County MSU Alumni Club, a distinction that reflects his exceptional character, academic excellence, and leadership.
Gavin earned this honor through a consistent demonstration of academic prowess, strong leadership, and unwavering personal integrity. In the classroom, he is known for his dedication to learning and his commitment to doing his best each day. His academic success is not only a reflection of his ability, but also his work ethic and determination to grow.
Equally impressive is Gavin’s leadership beyond the classroom. As a multi-sport athlete, he leads on both the field and the court, setting the tone for his teammates through effort, accountability, and a team-first mindset. He has the unique ability to elevate those around him, making his teams stronger through both his performance and his example.
That commitment was on full display the night of the honors banquet. Gavin first led the Hemlock Varsity Baseball team to a hard-fought victory over Chesaning, pitching an outstanding game. Despite the late finish, he made the effort to attend the banquet afterward—demonstrating his dedication not only to his team, but also to representing his school and community with pride.
