For Lindsay Kerry, public service isn’t abstract—it’s personal. As a parent of three young children in the Hemlock Public School District and an engaged community member, Lindsay sees firsthand how schools shape families, relationships, and the future of a community. That perspective, paired with a strong professional background, drives her commitment to serving on the Hemlock Board of Education.
Lindsay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Business Administration and a Master’s in Business Administration, a combination that reflects both analytical thinking and strategic leadership. Her professional career began at Dow Chemical Company, where she worked as a Toxicology Chemist from 2004 to 2011. She later served as an Impact Analytical Chemist and Testing Sales professional from 2011 to 2014, gaining experience in both scientific rigor and client-focused problem solving.
Since 2014, Lindsay has been a Commercial Designer and Business Co-Owner at McNalley Office Services, where she helps organizations—including schools—design functional, efficient, and thoughtful spaces. As a business owner, she has developed a deep appreciation for fact-based decision making, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and creative problem-solving, all of which she brings to her role on the Board of Education.
Why She Chose to Serve
When asked what inspired her to join the Hemlock Board of Education, Lindsay points to her desire to give back in a meaningful way.
“I wanted to serve my community in a positive and meaningful way. I felt it was time to get more involved, especially because I’m personally connected to so many families in our district. Our schools play such an important role in the lives of our children and our community, and it matters to me that we continue to maintain and improve them for the future.”
A Proud Huskie Moment
While Lindsay is proud of the district’s visible progress—especially new and improved facilities—it’s the people that stand out most to her.
“I’m proud of the physical progress we’ve made as a district, but even more proud of the personal side of our school community. This past summer, when our preschool and early childhood center went through some tough restructuring, our staff didn’t crumble—they stepped up. They worked quickly to train, hire, and make sure our kids had what they needed. Because of their dedication, our programs were only delayed by a week and continue running smoothly. That moment really showed what it means to be a Huskie.”
What Makes Hemlock Special
Although Lindsay and her husband are not originally from Hemlock, she says the district’s sense of belonging made an immediate impression.
“What sets Hemlock apart is the genuine connection among families of all ages. We’ve always felt welcomed and supported. We’ve made new friends, built real relationships, and because the people here are so friendly and inclusive, our children feel that same sense of belonging. That strong community feel is what truly makes Hemlock special.”
Looking Ahead
As the district continues to grow, Lindsay is especially excited about the opportunities new facilities will create for students.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing our new facilities come to life this year. I can’t wait to watch how our students use these spaces—whether it’s for sports, theater, music, or anything in between. Seeing them explore new opportunities and grow through these updated facilities is something I’m truly excited about.”
Lessons from Board Service
Since joining the board, Lindsay has gained a deeper appreciation for the complexity of public education.
“There is so much that happens behind the scenes—far more coordination, communication, and teamwork than I ever realized. I’ve also gained a deeper appreciation for how dedicated our staff truly is. Everything they do is centered around what’s best for our students, and every decision we make impacts real families. That’s something I take very seriously.”
A Value That Resonates
Of Hemlock’s core values—innovate, collaborate, educate—one stands out most to Lindsay.
“Collaboration resonates with me the most. In my own business, collaboration is how new ideas happen, how honest feedback is shared, and how real improvements are made. I see the same thing in our schools. Without collaboration among students, staff, and community members, we wouldn’t be able to grow or move forward in a positive way.”
Outside of her professional and board responsibilities, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her children, staying involved in community activities, and getting outdoors with her family on hiking adventures.
Thoughtful, approachable, and deeply invested in student success, Lindsay Kerry represents the heart of local governance—neighbors serving neighbors, with kids and community at the center.
Go, Huskies!
