K.C. Ling Elementary Welcomes New Teachers!

Hemlock, MI – The month of August is always a busy time as schools prepare for the start of another successful year.  This has been particularly true for new principal, Lori Gensch, with the hiring of three new teachers at K.C. Ling Elementary.  The new teachers joining the Huskie pack include Tamara Griffin (Kindergarten), Shannon Siler (1st grade), and Emily Schmidt (STEAM).

When asked about all of the new additions, Principal Lori Gensch said, “We were very fortunate to hire a group of dynamic individuals that bring with them a wealth of educational experiences.  They will be an asset to our school and the students they serve for many years to come.”

The new hires are just as excited to be a part of Hemlock Public Schools as the district is to have them.  When asked about their thoughts on joining the Huskie pack and what they are looking forward to the most, they responded:

“I am excited to be a part of such a tight-knit community and look forward to building relationships that foster student success.”

-Tamara Griffin, Kindergarten Teacher

“I am thrilled to join such a great staff and group of educators!  I am most excited about making a difference in the lives of kids and families in my community.”

- Shannon Siler, 1st Grade Teacher

“I am very excited to be joining the incredibly caring and innovative staff at Hemlock Public Schools. I am most looking forward to watching our students grow into scientists, technology experts, engineers, artists, mathematicians, and skillful problem-solvers as they work collaboratively to design and create various products in our STEAM class.”

-Emily Schmidt, STEAM Teacher

Principal Gensch is enthusiastic about the future of K.C. Ling Elementary, saying, “It is an exciting time to be a Huskie.  With such an incredible staff already in place, these new hires have some great mentors to help guide them.  At the same time, they bring with them fresh, new ideas and perspectives that will be appreciated by our staff, students, and families alike.”
