Dear Parents and Students,
As we wrap up the 2023/2024 school year, I am filled with gratitude and pride for all we have accomplished together. It feels like just yesterday we were navigating the new roundabout at K.C. Ling, and now here we are, preparing to say goodbye to another fantastic year.
This year has been nothing short of amazing. From the energetic buzz in our classrooms to the spirited competitions on the fields and courts, every member of our school community has played a pivotal role. You have all truly embraced our ethos of pulling together to enhance our student and family experiences, making our school a beacon of success and joy. A huge round of applause to each of you!
Reflecting on the year's highlights, I'm reminded of the incredible energy in the packed gym at SVSU’s Ryder Center during the FIRST Robotics State Championship. The spirit and enthusiasm as we cheered for Hemlock’s Gray Matter Team #5712 to victory was a standout moment for me. What was your favorite memory from this year? I’d love to hear about the moments that made your year special.
As we look forward to the sun-filled days of summer, let's also remember the importance of our upcoming Non-Homestead Operational Millage renewal. This vote is crucial as it directly impacts the day-to-day operation of our school district. Please mark your calendars for August 6th, and let’s make our voices heard. Remember, you can vote via absentee ballot as well.
Before we part for the summer, I encourage each student and parent to take a moment to express gratitude to their teachers and all school staff members. Their dedication is what makes our school truly outstanding.
Thank you, parents, for your unyielding support and collaboration throughout the year. Here’s to a restful, joyous summer—savor every moment, recharge, and let's continue to celebrate our community's spirit and resilience.
All the best,
Don Killingbeck Jr., Ed.D., Supt.
