Graf Induction

The Hemlock Public School District is thrilled to announce the induction of a distinguished member of its community into the prestigious Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. The school district extends heartfelt congratulations to Coach Larry Graf for an outstanding 28-year coaching career with the Hemlock High School Softball program.

The induction ceremony will be held at Horizon's Conference Center in Saginaw Township on November 5, 2023, with doors opening at 3 PM and the ceremony beginning at 4 PM. For more information on how to obtain tickets, click here.

Coach Graf's journey has been one of exceptional achievement and unwavering dedication. From 1986 to 2013, he demonstrated unparalleled commitment and leadership, leaving an indelible legacy that continues to inspire.

With an impressive record of 702 wins and 272 losses, amounting to a remarkable 72%-win percentage, Coach Graf has showcased exceptional coaching abilities that have guided their teams to numerous championships and awards. Beyond the wins and losses, he instilled essential values and teamwork skills that have positively impacted countless students' lives, both on and off the field.

Recognized as District Coach of the Year five times and Regional Coach of the Year three times, Coach Graf consistently pursued excellence throughout his illustrious career. His esteemed reputation also led to their selection to coach the MHSAA D3 State All-Star game in 2000 at Ranney Park in Lansing, MI, showcasing [his/her/their] influence in the broader coaching community.

Under Coach Graf's leadership, his teams consistently reached remarkable heights, including several qualifications for the state Quarterfinals and state semifinals. Notably, his 2000 team secured a state semifinal berth, highlighting their prowess in nurturing teamwork and fostering chemistry within the team.

One of the standout achievements in Graf's career is the 1998 team's exceptional record of 38 wins and 4 losses, coupled with four 1st team All-State players and [his/her/their] personal recognition as the 1998 Saginaw Area Dream Team Coach. These accomplishments underscore Coach Graf's caliber of coaching and mentorship.

Beyond the softball field, Coach Graf's impact resonates deeply in the lives of their players. His mentorship has played a pivotal role in shaping their futures, contributing significantly to their personal growth, character development, and academic success.
