The Hemlock Athletic Department is proud to recognize Avery Ross and Lauren Borsenik as nominees for the MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award. The program, in its 35th year, honors student-athletes participating in MHSAA-sponsored sports.
Multiple finalists from various schools had to meet eligibility criteria including a 3.50 GPA, a varsity letter in an MHSAA sport, short essay responses, two letters of recommendation, and a sportsmanship essay.
Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan, founded in 1949, sponsors the awards in partnership with the MHSAA.
Athletic Director Cory Snider said, "We are so grateful for all our student-athletes who continually put classroom success in line with on-field success. Both Avery and Lauren are worthy recipients of such a prestigious honor."
