Hilary is married to Todd House, and both are graduates of Hemlock High School. They have two children, Gabi and Holly, who both attend Hemlock Public Schools. Hilary earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in Criminal Justice and went on to pursue a career with the Michigan State Police. Upon retirement from MSP, Hilary earned her real estate license and is a member of the National Association of Realtors.

In the past, Hilary also served on the Great Lakes Bay Region C.A.N. Council (Child Abuse and Neglect) and as the law enforcement liaison for the C.A.N. Council. Hilary says, “Serving on the school board is my way of giving back to the community and supporting our children.” Hilary is most proud of the fact that Hemlock is such a great place to live and raise a family. I would say our single greatest challenge is meeting the ever-changing needs of students that have evolved since the pandemic.
