Early Childhood

Hemlock, MI. – The Hemlock Huskies launched the current early childhood program in 2014 and have expanded services, improved classrooms, and offerings several times since it’s conception. The program recently received the highest rating possible of 5 Stars from Great Start to Quality, Michigan's quality rating and improvement system (QRIS).

Principal Lori Gensch said, “We are devoted to providing the highest quality of care for our Huskie families.  This rating reflects the true dedication of our staff to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming setting as soon as you walk through the doors.”

The Early Childhood Center is home to the district’s preschool and childcare programming that serves infant children all the way up to 12 years of age. The program directors are Megan Bedford (preschool) and Abby King (childcare) both of whom have a wealth of experience working in early childhood and strong educational backgrounds with advanced degrees.
