Investment

Hemlock, MI- Well depending on your investment philosophy and strategies that may be a stretch but Hemlock Public School District certainly gives Bitcoin a run for its money when it comes to returns.

Board President Matt Wesener says, “There is no investment more important than our youth.  I am incredibly proud of our district, it’s leaders, and employees as they have all demonstrated tremendous fiduciary responsibility in investing in the right areas while securing our financial stability.”

As a community, there cannot be a more important investment than that of educating the next generations. Hemlock Public School District prides itself on providing the best possible education for its students, families and our community.

The district, though fiscally responsible, takes an approach of investing in people with strong partnerships in providing professional services with Saginaw ISD, Saginaw Valley State University, Dale Carnegie, and more.

“Things depreciate, but people when invested in pay dividends and help improve our school system, our culture, and learning for students,” said Superintendent, Dr. Don Killingbeck.

As a district we continue to review and align our limited resources annually with our mission and vision of serving students and families. This process has produced stability for our staff and has allowed us to become one of the destination districts in our county and region for children and parents.

Being a good investment has allowed us to update our curriculum and provide instructional resources like 1:1 technology to all students, secure grants and additional funding for things like the Lockwood STEM Center, and open programs like our Early Childhood Center or Early Middle College. It has allowed us to invest in social emotional support with school social workers and counselors to help students.

Hemlock Public School District focuses on creating a world-class educational experience for students, staff, and families. Strong fiscal management, partnerships and service to the community are valued by the district in order to meet their emphasis on innovation and collaboration in education.
