Saginaw Valley State University held its graduation recently, and Hemlock Public School District couldn’t be prouder and more excited to have some former Huskies wrap up their college education.

This year has been an extremely difficult year with finding substitute teachers.  The pandemic, sick children at home, and a baby boom have struck teachers to need substitute teachers.  Fortunately, some of our former students have graduated at a perfect time, and some are landing jobs within the district they grew up in.

Principal Lori Gensch stated, “We have been lucky to know some of these “substitute teachers” as former students, which then leads to knowing their families, their work-ethics, and they, in turn, know their student’s families and school community. It is a wonderful evolution to see happen, and to see them want to continue to be a Huskie is a bonus!”

Principal Chase noted, “I have coached or been some of these grads band-director, and to see them now working for the district truly shows the love of our community. It is great welcoming them as adults starting their careers.”
