Leadership Profile

Leadership Profile, Lela Gronski

Leading in good times is a challenge; leading over the last year is more than that; it is multi-faceted, moving targets, dealing with difficult people, which for some starts in the morning when you look in the mirror, and so much more.

Many times, leaders do not have the corresponding titles, which is surely the case with Lela Gronski. The leadership of Lela,  Executive Assistant to the Superintendent for Hemlock Public School District through the school, shut down, return to learn plan, and more has kept our school district moving forward and learning.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck said, "In a normal year, Lela plays a significant role in operations, but in a year like this, she has stepped up and helped support and lead the charge behind the scenes that has allowed us to stay operational."

Lela Gronski's has many responsibilities beyond Executive Assistant to the Superintendent; she is responsible for much of our state and federal reporting, pupil accounting,  onboarding new employees (HR), board meetings, and more,  and this year, in addition to her normal responsibilities, she has served as the point person for close contact, SCHD, and many other things.
