Welcome Director Snider

Hemlock Public School District is pleased to announce that Cory Snider has been selected as the district’s next Director of Athletics, Recreation, and Community Education. 

 The district received a lot of interest from qualified candidates and went through a rigorous interview process which included a digital screener, face-to-face interview, and finalists were greeted by a panel of nine (9) comprised of staff, administrators, and boosters many of whom are parents as well. 

Board President, Matt Wesener said, “There are so many great things happening at Hemlock and people want to be a part of it.  We continue to get a ton of great candidates for positions and we are excited to welcome Cory into this new role.”

Snider is no stranger to our region as he is a lifelong resident of the Bay City area having been a teacher and coach with Bangor Township his entire career before pursuing this opportunity. 

Superintendent Killingbeck noted “Cory rose to the top of a great pool of candidates, he possesses the pedigree of an athletics director and so much more with a strong educational background. Cory has taught middle school students for over a decade, is a certified Google Educator, and has a passion for teaching and learning.”

Snider has a professional portfolio of experience which, includes 13 years as a classroom teacher, and has served in a leadership capacity at Bangor Township School District, as a coach, technology committee member, school improvement member, as well as Google Certified Educator

New Director of Athletics, Recreation, and Community Education, Cory Snider said, “I am so thankful to be trusted with this opportunity in an amazing district. I am excited to get to work and continue to meet the great team that’s been assembled. I look forward to becoming a member of this community and continuing to make Hemlock a destination school district.” 

Snider received his Bachelor of Arts in Education, in history and English education from Central Michigan University and went on to receive his Master of Education, in 2013 in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. He is excited to work with the amazing group of student-athletes, teachers, coaches, staff, and other stakeholders at Hemlock and looks forward to helping lead the Huskie pack.

After getting settled into his position, Director Snider plans on focusing on building quality relationships with staff, booster club, players, families, and all community members. He is looking to the future and is excited about all the opportunities Hemlock has to offer.
