Saying Goodbye isn't Easy

It is never easy to say goodbye to a friend. Hemlock Public School District celebrates head custodian Stephanie Baker and congratulates her on her retirement.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck said, “Working with Stephanie over the years has been a privilege. Her focus and passion to make the buildings shine for students, staff, and everyone is evident, she will truly be missed.”

Stephanie has been part of the Hemlock Huskie Pack for over 24 years. She began as part of the custodial team and transitioned to a bus driver and made a full circle as she wraps up her career as head custodian at K.C. Ling Elementary.

Regardless of the position, Stephanie is known for being a team player, a dedicated hard-worker; always striving to make things just a little better each and every day.

Principal Lori Gensch noted, “It is never easy to say goodbye to someone as special as Stephanie.  She is a valued, trusted, and caring person that has touched the lives of many of our Huskies.  The energy and love she has brought to our school buildings will leave big shoes to fill, but I am confident her replacement will be up for the challenge.”

Baker plans on enjoying her retirement, which officially starts on April 1, 2021, by spending more time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and focusing on the small things in life that make her happy.
