Hemlock Public School District continues to remain in face-to-face learning from grades PK-8th grade.  HPSD has provided more face-to-face instruction opportunities to our students than any other district in our county.

Many may ask, “Why are we staying open,” and “how are we staying open?”  The answer is teamwork! Between our staff, parents, students, and patience, we have been able to piece the COVID-19 puzzle together.

In the words of Dr. Anthony Fauci, “School is the safest place for children to be. If you look at the data, the spread among children and from children is not really very big at all, not like one would have suspected.” (

HPSD has put together a COVID-19 Dashboard and weekly updates to keep families and staff informed.

Elementary Principal Gensch shared, “The safety of our children and staff is most important, and we have continued to follow protocols and measures to keep everyone that way. I am so proud of everyone making this work for the most important one’s involved-the children.”
