Hemlock Board of Education, Election 2020
Hemlock Board of Education, Election 2020
Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Unlike many other political races across the state and nation, the 2020 Hemlock Public School District Board election was determined relatively early after the polls closed on Tuesday, November 3rd

The district’s voters selected incumbents Kimberly Hoeppner and Matt Wesener, and newcomer Bryan Conger to the Board of Education.

Board President Dr. Ellison said, "It's exciting to welcome a new board member, and I'm positive Bryan will do an outstanding job in the years to come. It's also nice to maintain some of the stability that this board has worked so hard to achieve.  I'm very happy with the voters' choices."

The current board will serve out the remainder of 2020, with two regular meetings remaining in November and December. The new board, with the parting of long-time secretary Mary Ann Ling and new-elect Bryan Conger, will be seated at the January 2021 regular meeting.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck said, “It has been a privilege to serve with Mary Ann Ling, who will be greatly missed. Bryan Conger will be a nice new edition to the board of education, helping round out our dynamic governance team.”

The primary function of the school board is to set policy, develop goals, and review and adopt budgets (MASB). The board has one employee, the school superintendent.
