Boy's Soccer Off to a Great Start

Hemlock Public School District’s Varsity Boys’ Soccer team is off to a great start. Senior Ethan Vietti has already racked up 17 goals on the season. Other key players include Nolan Finkbeiner, Chayton Ross, Colton Marino, Jake Funka, Brock Rinz, and Josh Wardlow.

The Huskies benefit by having some good talent in goal, as well. Cayden Stark has had 36 saves. AJ Light and Clay Urbaniak have also been very successful.

“Our Varsity soccer team is playing strong with a 5-2 record, and are currently sitting in second place in our conference,” said Coach Joe Wardlow.  “We have lost a lot of defense since last season and are having some growing pains, but the boys are learning quickly, and adapting to new formations and positions. Each game we gain more confidence and are looking forward to a very competitive district tournament.”

With the limitations on spectators, the district was able to install the NFHS Network on the soccer field to capture the games. It is a great way for grandparents, aunts, uncles, and Huskie fans to still see the game and cheer on the team.

“The NFHS Network provides our school with a high-quality video of the game. We are able to view the game live or On Demand. I have also used it to make highlight videos and share on our Facebook page,” shared Athletic Secretary Jamie Galbraith.

You can sign up for the NFHS Network by visiting https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/subscribe/retail.

There is a subscription fee of $69.99 for a year or $10.99 a month. Currently, for the fall season, you can view football, soccer, and volleyball home games.
