Hemlock High School Cross Country 2001 and 2002 teams were recently honored and inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. The Hemlock teams were celebrated on November 5, 2017, in the presence of many community and family members who attended the annual banquet.

Retired Hemlock High School Principal and Superintendent Rudy Godefroidt said, “I am sure you all made memories together that will last a lifetime, and I can’t be prouder to have been associated with this fantastic group of young men in the role of high school principal.”

The purpose of the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame is to foster amateur sports competition by recognizing present and former area athletes, coaches and others who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics, either individually or by virtue of their performance on or in connection with athletic teams representing their high school, community college, four-year college, university or professional team or sport, or by meritorious effort on behalf of athletics.  The corporation will annually nominate, elect, honor and award truly outstanding Saginaw County male and female athletes.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck said, “This induction is a great honor to our alumni athletes and coaches for their efforts and tremendous results.”

The 2001 and 2002 Boys Cross Country State Champ Teams were coached by Bill Agresta and Glen Cunnigham. They provided proper training and motivation to achieve such great success.
