Terry Keyser has nominated Bernard (Bean) Barrett as our Hemlock Middle School Staff Recognition Highlight this week.
Mr. Barrett teaches 8th grade Science, 7th grade Science Alive and 7th and 8th grade Physical Education at Hemlock Middle School, where he has taught for 13 years. His family includes wife, Amy, and daughters, Elli Mae (7) and Hadley (3).
Mr. Barrett attended Lansing Community College, Central Michigan University, and Walden University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership. He likes to spend his spare time camping, hunting, and fishing. His favorite author is Louis La'Mour. Bean’s favorite quote is, “Don't count the days, make the days count.” Mr. Barrett’s all-time favorite place visited is the Grand Canyon.
Mr. Barrett loves teaching, sharing, “I am the proudest when my students try their best on a challenging assignment. I believe in my students’ potential.”
