Josh Chase

Terry Keyser has nominated Joshua Chase as our Staff Recognition Highlight this week.

Joshua Chase is our district’s Instrumental Music and Multimedia Video Production teacher.  He has been teaching in the district for 15 years. His family includes wife, Janie daughter, and Allison, age 7.

Joshua earned his Bachelor’s degree at Anderson University and is near completion of a Master’s degree following classes at Saginaw Valley State University and Lamar University.  He likes to spend his spare time at shooting competitions, hunting, and riding ATVs.  Josh’s favorite book is Uncommon by Tony Dungy. His favorite quote is from the great UM football coach, Bo Schembechler, “When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing.'' Mr. Chase’s all-time favorite place visited is the Rocky Mountains.

Mr. Chase loves teaching, saying he is proudest when students begin to think on their own.

Terry Keyser, Hemlock Middle School said, “Josh is such a positive force in our district--he preaches leadership to our students in all phases of their life.  He expects our students to be outstanding in their efforts and their results.”  He believes in his students’ potential and strives to be a positive guide for students.

Mr. Chase takes pride in being creative and thinking outside the box.  His positive attitude rubs off on everyone he encounters.
