Help Our Kids Win the Race!

Hello parents and community friends!

Election Day, November 5th, will be here before we know it.

I’m grateful we still have more than a month to talk about the Sinking Fund Proposal and what it means to the future of Hemlock Public School District.

The conversations I’m having with people in our community who are committed to excellent public education are both inspiring and beneficial.

Everyone wants to learn how creating a Sinking Fund will help HPSD respond to the long list of major repairs, upgrades, and maintenance issues presently challenging portions of our aging facilities without taking away resources intended for the classroom and instruction.

Basically, our Sinking Fund Proposal requests a 1.5 mill property tax levy for 10 years. For a homeowner with a $150,000 house ($75,000 taxable SEV), this works out to an annual cost of about $112.50 per year or $9.38 per month.

For more comprehensive information regarding how we are working to Help Our Kids Win the Race and the election info site, see the link below or click here.

We chose this theme because so many wonderful things are happening in our schools every day – and we all need to do what we can to keep our positive momentum going.

Please take a quick look at the mini-stories provided by our three school principals.

You’ll see we are growing skills and character in HPSD firmly anchored in the values of our caring and hard-working community.
